George Washington Carver

I didn't see the "American Dad", but I saw a feature about him on the History Channel while I was sick in Anaheim last week. They mentioned the Iowa State College of Agronomy several times - it was pretty cool. They also mentioned that he spent his free time knitting, which was a touch odd.

Anaheim, CA? That's my neck of the woods. We could've had a cyclonefanatic outing while you were in town.

That would have been cool!! I wish I had known that! We were at the Crown Royale Plaza in Garden Grove (by the Hyatt and the Outback/Joe's Crab Shack). We really didn't make it out to do anything much cool while we were there, since nobody in our group knew the area - I do have to say that the ESPN Zone at Downtown Disney was really cool, though.

The ESPN Zone is fun, I've never actually made it into Disneyland because of it. Anaheim is pretty fun. The Home Depot center is right near there and there is usually some event going on there a couple of days a week. It's a good venue. Soccer games (even if you are not a fan) are a lot of fun to go to because of the atmosphere. You could've ventured 30 minutes north and done the whole Hollywood thing, maybe even seen Britney with her locks chopped off on Sunset Blvd. If you ever venture out here again, I'll give you some advice.

We didn't do Disneyland, either, just because of the ESPN Zone!! Much cheaper, and since we're all adults, it was much more our speed.

Thanks - I'll ask you if we go out again! A bunch of us are going to Seattle in mid-May for a big conference, so feel free to share anything you know to do there! :)

Pike Place Market is a must. I love Seattle. I was only there one time, but I really enjoyed it.

I find it hilarious how off-subject threads become :laugh8kb:

Somewhere within this thread it went from George Washington Carver to Seattle. Good stuff!

I'm watching a movie called Unfaithful.
