Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

Somebody is staying - Big12 isn't taking all 5 and going to 18. I don't think the networks will pay enough to add them all and go to 18.

Either ASU and Utah get left behind and UW/UO join, or UW/UO get a B1G invite and then ASU & Utah probably get a Big12 invite, but ONLY if the networks will pay for it.

Honestly, right now, if the deal is truly as bad as the rumors, I think UW/UO would probably jump (UO for sure). And I think the B1G is sincere they don't want any more adds right this moment.

You could also end up with AZ, UO, and ASU maybe, if UW wants to anchor a conference with Stanford for a few years and wait on the B1G.

Fun times! Thank you Mister Yormark!
Oh yeah I don't think there's a way we go to 18 this round. We take UW/UO and tell Utah and ASU to sick a duck.

My parents are large donors to ISU athletics, season ticket holders, etc. Didn’t know that BYU, UCF, etc were in the conference and had no clue Colorado stuff went down. Every fan base has people that don’t obsess about this crap.
I'm always amazed by how many people are very into this stuff emotionally, but don't follow that closely.

My uncle gets way more upset when ISU loses than I do, but he didn't know about the gambling stuff until I mentioned it a couple of weeks ago.

Fandom expresses itself in a lot of different ways.

This tweet of his is interesting too. Not sure if this is in reference to the idea that Arizona, ASU and Utah might be package deal?

He believes (and admitted its total speculation) that FSU is getting out of the ACC by the 15th. ORWA will join the B1G on the cheap and the B1G will redirect that money to help FSU and possibly Clemson. I believe he has been accurate about a lot of things, but this isn't one of them. Its why he is using words like coordination and something is happen sooner than he thought.

I'd be MWC or pull a uconn (give up on football and join the Big East). The new AAC might as well be the MAC, we destroyed that conference just like we're going to destroy the PAC.

It isn't mathematically possible to have a 9 game conference schedule with an odd number of teams. Try to chart it out, you can't do it.

Tried it. Maybe I did it wrong, but if I didn't, I was able to do it.

See, you didn’t take it far enough…

MWC and AAC decline our applications, forcing ISU to join the MAC, giving Hok fans their biggest wet dream ever.
Yikes. This take is really good. I agree about the hok fans wanting ISU to disappear. You nailed it.

Some of it is probably generational as well. Sports fandom has grown a lot over the last 2 decades with the internet and social media. I think some of the older crowd just haven't adapted and still primarily follow what happens on the field and pretty much tune it out after that.

The older generation definitely is less inclined to have knowledge of any of this.

If 13 teams each play 9 games and you add up their wins and losses, there would be a total of 117 games played. Since 2 teams play in each game, that would mean there would be 58.5 games played. Since you can't play half a game, that means its mathematically impossible. If its 11 teams with nine games, you have 99 total wins and losses which would mean 49.5 games.

You only list 11 teams in your example, but some of them play team 12. You missed team 12's schedule.

I was in Colorado last week when that all went down. The couple Buff fans I saw had no clue and truly didn’t seem to care.
After living in Colorado for 25+ years, I can say this move back to the Big 12 is the biggest Buffs news item to happen in a long, long time. The hiring of Prime is up there too. That being said, every fan of the other Big 12 schools living in Colorado absolutely love CU coming back

As much fun as we are having today...

I feel obligated to ask you all to keep the CF servers in your thoughts and prayers as they struggle to remain with us through their trying bout of realignment posts
Love this sentiment, but being a geek for 40+ years, I find it stupefying a site like this could burden a properly engineered server farm.

Unless I'm reading this wrong, this doesn't work. You've got team 1 schedule showing they're playing team 2 but team 1 is not on team 2's schedule. Same for 2 and 3; same for 3 & 4, etc. etc
