Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

Not sure I'd include Clemson in this conversation. Clemson's "Press Box" runs the entire length of the field and includes seating on top. From what I can tell, it has an identical setup on the other side too.

Oh wow. Both sides are quite steep.

These two pics look a few years apart? I would say the lower one here is older? With the addition of bleacher seats on the far endzone (with the scoreboard), have they done away with the Clemson tradition of the players running down the ramp and touching Howard's rock?

While I agree, it's funny how all fans bases can spin things to fit their narrative. Not too long ago, streaming was the future. Not saying that you said that @Cmonwhatarewedoinghereman.
You’re right and streaming will be a huge part of the future. Large inventory of games and the need for more cash will do it. However it’s just not gonna work like how the Pac deal looks. No one outside of Pac school fan bases are going to buy this add-on. We all pay for espn+ to get big 12 basketball games but there is also a lot of other content there. Streaming may work as examples:
1. Weekday Maction when nothing else is on
2. Some big streamer says we want the big 10 or sec 8pm est game of the week
3. Cable companies just put more of their inventory on their own streaming service a la big 12 bball.
Everyone has a bunch of streaming subs already. No one’s itching to add more, especially not for Oregon state football.

Perhaps, they were just random Google images I found while searching their stadium.

I see streaming companies eventually start to aggregate; much like most major industries (eg auto, plane, TV, phone, etc). This, historically, reduces to a Big 3; then may branch out because of foreign involvement, and or exceptional innovation. I think history will repeat itself here too.

IMO the B1G will take Washington and Oregon at a reduced share. They’ll go for sure. B1G is not going to let the Pacific NW and Seattle get away.

Fox doesn't have their own streaming horse in the race because Disney consumed them. If they'd have merged with CBS/Paramount instead there's no Paramount +.

DC comics tried their own streaming service and realized the content was viewed by nobody so now it's on Max. If Marvel/Star Wars hadn't been consumed by Disney they might have had enough cache to go on their own to some extent as another minor player.

YouTube Red failed and I think they were smart to cut bait on it.

There's a ton of this going on in the right now.

I really can't see AppleTV being the future but maybe I'm wrong and they'll leverage their devices some better way. I don't think it's a good thing that such a long shot is the Pac's streaming partner. If it was Prime or Netflix I could see it as still a gamble, but more likely to work.

No. They still do that then the students fill in on the grass hill.

People, stop with the mhver ****.
Yeah this is like the 300th "deal" he has purported to know about. Funny that he knows all these deals, when no on else does.

He reports "deals" that have just a hint of believability, as well as other info just the same. Then when something happens he will go back and say see, i said it. Even though 99% of everything else he guesses is complete BS and not close.

Makes you wonder why he has a fake id on Twitter....because if he actually said who he was, everyone would know he is full of ****.

Then how about this source. Pretty similar numbers and story

They can bid on the remaining 3 super conferences

I understand that. But still, in the 'newer' one the bleachers seem to displace the run-down of the players.
No. They still do that then the students fill in on the grass hill.
OK, got it. So no bleachers there, still a grass hill? Makes sense, thx!

FWIW. Thread gives possible details

So let’s imagine for a minute that the blind squirrel found a nut here. GK is going to offer SDSU or UNLV $10m a year, but they have to spend $34m up front to get that incredible opportunity? Feels like he may have issues getting to 12 teams with those conditions. Especially when they’re giving ORWA $30m to be their conference ‘partners’. Cause that’s the way to get these new teams built up to power conference level, leave them cash strapped and at a huge disadvantage to their conference foes.

I'm obviously biased, but where is our stadium showing signs of wear? I mean, don't get me wrong, we 1000% need a bigger press box and something needs to be done to the coloring of our seats, but I don't really know what else they could be talking about..
Had to go back several pages to figure out how “conference realignment” and “press box” correlated with each other. And once I found the source of “press box” on this thread, it left me just as confused how they still relate to each other. /s
