I'm sure our media partners would LOVE for us to now add Oregon, Washington, and Arizona. Get almost all the value out of the PAC at a fraction of a cost and consolidate into a clear 3rd power that they have locked up already
I read last night that with the loss of UCLA and USC that Dallas is 200 miles closer to Boulder than Los Angeles. And Deion really wants to recruit Texas.
I think it was a major tectonic shift. Either Texas moved north and a major mountain range is now in Kansas or, more likely, California finally fell off into the ocean like people have been predicting for decades.Wait, the Big 10 taking UCLA and USC caused the US to grow by 200 miles?
We really are the baddies, aren’t we?
I mean… ISU brand doesn’t match our in the stand presence. You think a linear line exists between national brand and % sold out FB/BB games? Or a line close to linear?
Opposed wasn’t the right word, indifferent was. They would also be a massive academic outlier and the politics would be a nightmare. The Big12 would most likely take any of the Cali schools but the Cali schools do not want to be associated with the Big12 or the majority of the states the schools reside in due to politics.2019-2020 Cal athletics raised $36 million. Seems opposite of opposed.
And why does that matter … I mean, Utah does. Do you think USC and UCLA don’t look down on the B12?CW has said this a couple times but schools like Stanford and Cal look down on the Big 12.
So a top tier educational institution isn’t right for the B12?
And so, B12 would not have taken UCLA?
Sounds familiar. That's why it was clear that the PAC 12 was screwed. Many of their potential negotiating partners were actively working to get the programs they wanted in the Big 12.
If you think that is a sign of mass grass roots support for their athletics from faculty, students, & alumni instead of meaning they have some wealthy alumni who like athletics, I don't know what to tell you.2019-2020 Cal athletics raised $36 million. Seems opposite of opposed.
Now you have shifted the goal posts… I didn’t say that. … but play along, if you think butts in seats is so important… ISU will have no issues getting into the B10.If Stanfords brand is so huge, then I'm sure they will have no issues getting into the Big 10.
Of course they do, that’s why they moved to the big ten? Not sure where you’re going with thisAnd why does that matter … I mean, Utah does. Do you think USC and UCLA don’t look down on the B12?
I mean.. right, of course the do and should. It’s cool Stanford and Cal thing they are above the B12… they probably are in many areas.
The PAC overall is in a horrible spot. I don't think CO is the only domino to fall, it's just the second part of a feedback loop that's only going to pick up speed as long as the B12 is willing to add PAC schools. The real question is how big does the B12 want to go? 16? 18? ESPN's on the hook for any P5 schools the B12 wants to add, but what is Fox willing to take on?it is literally an outward display of privilege on their part. they are assuming that rich daddy is gonna swoop in and prevent all their **** from getting taken by the repo man.
they are so ****** here and just oblivious to how ****** they are. maybe they think some state governments will step up and save them. or rich donors. regardless, they will ignore it.
So you’re kinda answering your own question?I mean.. right, of course the do and should. It’s cool Stanford and Cal thing they are above the B12… they probably are in many areas.
Because conference unity matters. You need institutions that are like-minded.why does a schools perception of their place in college athletes or academics matter here? That’s where I am going with this.
The agenda is pretty short and the only athletic item on the agenda pertains to the football coach's employment. I'm not sure how these things work so it certainly could go on a tangent or there could be other items. The timing and suddenness is interesting though. On Twitter. Supposedly they have a Board meeting too
Now you have shifted the goal posts… I didn’t say that. … but play along, if you think butts in seats is so important… ISU will have no issues getting into the B10.
Brand and butts in seats are different things.
