Middle gets both armrests. Bigger issue than recline IMO. And recline slowly. No need to slam back. I pay the extra money for premium seats as the amenities help with my physical issues. Others should consider premium seats if they have issues with standard seating. “I’m too tall, you can’t recline.” sounds like a cheap person concerned only about themselves and won’t spend their own money to solve their own problem.

I've seen people with an open laptop wedged into the seat/tray and wonder if the slam back could break a laptop screen. I'm surprised it doesn't result in drinks in laps more often.

The seat wouldn't recline if you weren't supposed to do it. Because someone else isn't comfortable to do it themselves doesn't mean you should live by their rules. It isn't invading their space.

It absolutely is invading their space. There's a reason tray tables and all the otherthings on the back of the chairs exist. The space between the passenger and the seat ahead (including under the seat ahead) is that passenger's space for their legs, food, drinks, laptops, etc. Nearly had a laptop broken once by some jackass who slammed their seat back.

The seats are able to recline because there are times when people will be mutually ok with it. Particularly on flights at night when much of the flight is sleeping.

That middle person did save $30 by getting a middle seat. I generally try to give it to them but I'm second guessing it now.
For the record, I typically get a window seat and try to squish myself against the wall. While I'm certainly fat, I also have a barrel chest and wide hips so there's only so much I can do. I dont need a seat belt extender so I do mostly fit in the seat. I try to minimize the discomfort of those next to me.

I prefer Aisle or window and do mostly the same, I will lean into that side to give the middle person the armrest and as much room as possible since they can move around as much.

I'm probably in the minority on this, but I also prefer to wait to get on the plane when boarding. As long as I know I have a seat. I realize carryon space as limited, but I don't want to be in a hurry to be sitting in a plane for the next couple of hours.

You explained the reasons for the existence of trays. So why do seats recline if a person is forbidden to recline? They have non-reclining seats in some exit rows. So airlines could put in non reclining seats. If people were not supposed to recline.

Question. Lets say the company you work for gives you a budget of X amount to fly to this location in the US and stay 3 nights and fly back for work. It is enough to fly first class and book a room at a place like a best western (in a safe place, not the hood), or you can fly coach and stay at a higher end hotel, which do you do? There are no options to upgrade either flight or hotel, it's straight up.

Depends on the flight length.

The boarding priority really dumbfounds me as well.

Apparently the strategy is to MAXIMIZE the amount of time a crying baby has to be on the plane. You need those crying babies boarding before anybody else because they respond well to longer flights.

If my carry on bag can fit down by my feet or on my lap I would love to be the absolute dead last person to get on the plane.

I'd take the nice room.

Before iPads and incredible noise cancelling headphones I'd take the nicer plane ticket. I can really zone out with my own movies on my own device and modern noise cancel headphones.

Recline must be approved by the person behind or is not allowed? LOL

Yes. Because it is their space. Period. For bags, laptops, legs, food, etc, the space in front of you is your space.

Recline is allowed because the airline gave the ability for the seat to recline.

What dumbass selfish logic this is "I have the ability therefore its ok".
