What music are you listening to right now?

We watched the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday via Peacock. I really dug "Promise" by Voyager, the entry from Australia. The song has a great 80s synth-rock vibe: big guitar, big percussion, big hook. There wasn't anything else like it in the contest. I ended up pre-ordering the album that will be out in July.

The 80s rock n roll is going to have its day again very soon i have a feeling

I don't think kicked in the balls hair metal is ever coming back if that's what you are alluding to.

A lot of it is already "coming back" depending on what you consider rock. U2 is doing the sphere shows with Achtung Baby and are maybe as popular as they've ever been. The same can be said with the Cure and a host of other acts who are playing venues larger than they have for ages.

I love 80s music in general, especially new wave type stuff (think Simple Minds), but he 80s was a poor time for what many would consider outright rock music. There are always stand outs like the Cult, Living Colour, early Metallica, U2, Mellencamp and others who brought some credence to the decade. Of all the things the 80s gave us, "Rock" music wouldn't be at the forefront.

Been listening to some neo-jazz stuff lately. Laufey is an artist that just announced a tour this week. She and others of her kind are putting out some fantastic music.

I just found out about these guys. They are insanely similar to Deftones, but dissimilar enough to feel like you're listening to a cheap knockoff.

Just finished a couple small backyard projects, wife just left for Champaign for work as always on Monday, time for Twisted Sister - Stay Hungry
