What's your favorite hot sauce?

When I was in San Diego I bought some sauce named Hot Licks. It's a cheesy name and logo, but I think their jalapeno sauce is amazing. It's not really hot, just very tasty. They have a chipotle sauce that's a little spicier and has a great smoky flavor. I still buy it to this day. They do have a ghost pepper sauce but I haven't tried that.

Went to a shop in old town san diego last year and tried several of the sauces at a shop there that were also pretty solid. Been meaning to order some

I bought this all the time in Chicago but I never see it in CA. There was red and green and I liked both.

My uncle worked for a restaurant management group in Chicago and used to gift the maybe 5-10 gallon tubs they would get off their trucks to our family. We'd split it amongst the aunts and uncle's. I haven't had it since I was a kid though. Its like the perfect level of spicy but not like show stealing the dish.

Cholula and it's varieties have some of the best flavor, but they aren't super spicy. Staples in my fridge are usually:

Cholula
Sriracha
Louisiana
Frank's
Tapatio/Valentina's

Then I'll mix it up with smaller bottles I find that have a little more flavor. One I've started to like is the Peri Peri sauce from Trader Joe's. It's made with fermented peppers, so it's a little bitter but has some good heat to it.

You can't buy this stuff but El Rey Burrito in Valley Junction has two of my favorite hot sauces. The red is like a roasted jalapeno seed sauce. Oh man is it good.

Absolutely love BWW's Habanero-Mango sauce. Besides putting it on my chicken wings, I use it all the time in my chili!
Can you buy that? I guess duh, they sell everything, but I never thought of it. The gf always gets that on her wings at BWW because they don't offer the hotter sauce anymore. She does really like the flavor too.

I have 5-6 in the fridge at all times. I’ve gotten really into Lola’s lately.

These 3 are my warhorses
OG Tabasco: cottage cheese; Bloody Marys; pizza; lettuce based salads; potato/pasta salads

Cholula: eggs; home made Mexican dishes

Siracha: anything Asian; pizza; eggs; potato/pasta salad; creamy soups; leftover Italian

Good to know that I’m not the only one who uses hot sauce on cottage cheese.

Tobasco or Frank's. I usually make it myself though. Reapers, cayenne, bell, jalapeño, garlic, salt vinegar. Let it ferment for a few days. Yum yum.

Buy them all… You won’t be disappointed. I really mean it.. buy everything!

I love hot sauce I put it on everything. I also love trying different types and trying new things, but I have yet to find anything better than the tried and trusted good ole Tobasco. It’s by far the best.

I have also really been into Lola’s lately. I do like some heat with my flavor, and when I really want to kick up the heat, nothing beats Lola’s Family Reserve.
