WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

The only downside to losing Billy is that he is our top recruiter. Good for him though
I wouldn't want to lose him, but I also find the potential idea of him getting promoted to head coach after Bill retires kind of icky because of the whole nepotism of it all. I think Billy is a great recruiter and probably a good coach, but I think he needs to prove it elsewhere if he wants to be head coach here.

I agree 100%.

I wonder if any KU players will follow him to Wichita??

Nooner could be a coup for Wichita State, the guy has been around the NBA (Player development-not as a player), winning NCAA programs (like Brenda's Maryland), and was a Jayhawk. Impressive resume and on top of it, as others have noted, the guy knows Kansas and other parts of the country.

I think if he left it would kill our recruiting.

But according to Iowa fans, Betts was a lock to Iowa because EVERYONE wants to come to Iowa and play alongside Clark. They were legitimately stating that they would have to turn away transfers.
Howks on the hookah pipe as usual. West coast girl decided to stay on the west coast and walk around UCLA campus in the middle of winter?Shocker.gif

Their fans are all over Aneesha Morrow too. I can't see CC doing well with someone who wants the spotlight; Czinano, Warnock, Martin, and Marshall are OK with not needing the spotlight.

Hell Yeah, Iowa could still get Morrow but I'll take this good news for now.

Morrow will have to change some to fit in with any of the better teams. None of them are looking for her to come in and shoot the ball 800 times like she did this past season. None of them need that. She launched over 200 threes and only made 25% of them. That can't happen on a better team. Top schools could use her rebounding and scoring but less "shooting", maybe more like 400-500 level for shots.

I'd say that wherever Morrow ends up, unless it's a Big 12 team, is more like no news for the Cyclones.

Morrow (22-23) averages: 35.2 minutes, 25.7 points (42.5% FG, 25.4% 3FG, 48.6% 2FG, 45.8% Eff FG), 12.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.9 turnovers, 1.3 blocks, 2.6 steals

Joens (22-23) averages: 35.8 minutes, 21.6 points (41.1% FG, 35.3% 3FG, 46.4% 2FG, 49.5% Eff FG), 9.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.2 turnovers, 0.3 blocks, 1.1 steals

As a Joens replacement, I'd take her in a heartbeat. Her effective FG% isn't great, but it isn't that much worse than Ashley's. I should also note that she averaged 3.5 offensive reb/game this past season and an insane 5.8 off reb/game the previous season. The ISU single-season off reb/g record is held by Pop with 4.4.

If they were to get a transfer they would have to be able to check their ego - Czinano was an All-American and was barely mentioned during their run - it was and will be all CC all the time.
