Hemp and Hemp Extracts containing CBD about to be formally legalized in Iowa

Hey there, guys. I've not found a better thread here to ask you for help, so sorry for reviving this one. Long story short, I lost my brother six months ago. Car accident. So, I've not had more than 4 hours of sleep since then. I feel so exhausted and stressed as I've never felt before. My therapist advised me to try CBD oil and... Well, that's why I'm here. Any recs/thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.
Hey there, sorry to hear about your brother. That must be really tough. I've been taking CBD oil for about 7 months, so I guess I can help you. First, it's always better to consult with your doctor about the dosage. At least ask a pharmacist for help.
Considering you have 2 personalities I’d say you’re gonna need something stronger the CBD.

Am I confused? You can't buy THC in Iowa unless you have a medical marijuana card. Right?
I think THC derived from hemp has different rules. Still has the same effects on me though, just takes a little more.

I'm thinking of hitting up the CBD store in Ankeny to see if they have anything that helps with anxiety. I have a lot of anxiety problems, but really don't want to up my anti-depressant. I've been taking magnesium and vitamin D, but I haven't really noticed a difference with my anxiety by taking these.

FYI, if you're in the market, don't buy delta-8 or delta-10 products as they contain synthetics. Only delta-9 products are 100% natural. Also, find the cold pressed products.

Sorry for your loss! The grieving process is different for everyone, so make sure you are compassionate towards yourself in the process. As we can sometimes stress ourselves out over the fact that were in a hurry to make the stress go away.

Regarding the oils, if you're in the state of Iowa, you can get your card through a doctor. There are about 15 different conditions that qualify you for it and the last category is vague in that you can justify emotional pain. Just make sure you have a doctor that views it that way as well. Then you pay $100 for your card to be able to shop the products at the states dispensaries.

If you choose to go online and get one, check to make sure they are 3rd party tested. I don't use cbd but I know cbdistillery does 3rd party testing.

I am a big believer in meditation if you are interested in that route. If you have more questions on that, let me know.

So I've read online D8 is more relaxing than D9 - how would you rate D9 as something to use to relax? I've started CBD for my anxiety, but I'm wondering if its better to take D9 on a Friday night than having some whiskey if I want a buzz.

On a scale of 1 to 10 with the latter being in a comatose state, I'd say it can get to that 9 or even 10 range. It all really depends on your tolerance and how much you consume. If you're not a THC user then you can get away with 5mg initially.

Type of strain of each is more important than the type of delta. Sativas and indicas are what I look at for type of high
