What music are you listening to right now?

Here is Joyce Moreno, playing the song that originally caught my attention when I heard it in Brazil 41 years ago. She has always been a great musician and did many concerts here in the US. This is a video from here. I have listened to her all my life.

I’m way late to pick up on this band. Hear so many things in their music that remind me of bands I grew up on. Heard Spillways on the radio a couple months ago, did a little googling, saw Joe Elliott and some other bands that were fans. Quickly understood why. Have a whole playlist of songs. They are supposed to be in St. Louis in August and may have to make a weekend of the trip
Anyone listen to Ghost's new album Prequelle. Been listening to that consta

I am equally embarrassed and excited that I have just recently discovered the music of John Prine. What a freaking gem of a songwriter. The guy was a mailman and can turn a phrase like Dylan.

It always amuses me that a guy from chicago became like a sort of country folk cult hero figure. He was a staple growing up for me my mom loves his music.

Here is Joyce when she was younger, about the time when I first heard her, I suspect this is with her two little girls. This song was also a big hit in Brazil.

This is a different group called "Boca Livre" from those days. They were wonderful days for music in Brazil.

Christmas music, It's the most wonderful time of the year, hang on, I'm being told that's just a commercial.

A couple weeks ago I bumped into an INXS song on a YouTube dive of music...haven't stopped listening to INXS since! Growing up I would listen to their songs on the radio or watch on MTV...but thought of them as mostly a pop group. Now...wow...I didn't give them enough credit! Michael Hutchence was an amazing front-man! Their writing was immensley more impressive than I gave them credit for in my youth. Wish I would have recognized them better when I was a kid but glad I found them now. Sad ending for the band though...I remember the day I heard Michael Hutchence passed away...they were very very good!

Didn’t he die a weird sex swing accident or something? Or am I thinking of another guy?

Yes. But disagreement over that...some claim that...some claim he hung himself while intentionally committing suicide. Not sure who to believe...but another case of a guy who seemed to have life by the you-know-whats and just couldn't find happiness and joy.

Gotcha. Boy INXS had a moment in the sun though. There was a bit were they were the tippy top.

This is fantastic.

Love MK and wish he would do more stuff like this during his live shows. He's a great guitar player but his most special instrument is his voice and that really comes through here. Sometimes he likes to go on guitar shredding marathons and that comes at the expense of his singing.

Thanks for posting it. I like it.

Surprised when he started singing in French as the music isn't typically something you'd associate with French music. Hope that's not something that holds him back because he's super talented.
