Sorry if someone already posted this, but there is a site where you can gamble for free. They give you $0.10 to start gambling, and you go from there. Once you get to $20 you can withdrawl.

They pay for this through ads on the site, but I barely notice them and get the same rush I use to from gambling sites (yes, I have a gambling addiction).

Check it out! I was up to $3.00 early in the week, but got greedy!

Enjoy

That site was posted (and I joined) about a year ago, probably time to bring it up again. It's a neat idea, and fun way to get a real-cash gambling fix without losing any money.

I'm up to about $3 after a recent run, I pretty much always go all-in (and pretty much always find myself starting over). I have a much worse Cyclone jinx on centsports than I do on CyBookie though... so I usually stay away from ISU.

I have been using that site for about a month now and it is great. I am up to about $1.50. The best thing is if you lose everything they just let you start over.

One thing this site has taught me is to never, ever gamble big $$$ on sports. Good "scared straight" lesson for me!

It's just funny to try and turn a $0.10 into some dolla bills!

What would tick me off is if I ever got up to like $100. That is 1,000 times winning %. Think if that were a simple $10 starting point on a regular gambling site,, just a cool $10,000. Brings a tear to my eye!

Thank you for the $.13 you've given me in that month.

I had mine up to $4.50 but the ISU/CU game and Pittsburg not covering in the SB set me back a few bucks.

So when you're starting out, you might as well just bet big underdogs on the moneyline b/c you're going to get your money back regardless.

Or click here to go to centsports to give me a 5% instead of the thread starter (it doesn't take from your winnings just gives the recruiter a bonus). At least i am up front about my motivation.

You gamble differently with fake money than real money. Don't think that if you have a good run fake gambling that you would have been able to retire if it would have been real gambling. Bet a couple hundee on an ISU-Mizzou home football game once, just once, and you'll know what I mean. :)

You can gamble legally on sports in Vegas. You just have to physically place the bets. I made several future bets last time I was in vegas and had to mail in the winning bets.

Most online sites are over-seas so they aren't illegal. It starts getting shady when getting paid. These companies have to use third party vendors/banks which charge large fees to get you paid.... and it takes up to 10 weeks.

I am down with the whole legalize thing.

No, over-seas sites are still illegal in the US. You cannot bet on sports over the internet if you are a US citizen, living in the US. Plain and simple. Where you can get caught is transferring the money, and that's what makes it complicated.

what exactly is legal/illegal about online betting?

Online gambling is illegal because the United States Congress hates gambling. They hate it. That is why no United States online poker or sports betting, all those sites are based overseas.

The difference with centsports is that it doesn't fall into the US Congress's technical of gambling. They define gambling as
1) a person giving consideration (money)
2) for the chance to win more money (skill based things are ok)
Centsports becomes legal by having advertisers pay the first step. They pay for ads (legal) and the website gives you the advertiser's money. (also legal) while keeping some for themselves (understandable). Without consideration being paid (step 1 for gambling) it is technically no longer gambling, thus it is as legal as McDonald's monopoly. Hope that helps.

makes sense. I'll have to jump on board with this....Sure it might take 4 months to make 50 dollars....but if it was fun while you did it..... :-)
