Agree 100%.I still have a tough time with the guys that are one year or two years and gone. Just seems like a short time to get to know them, and one of my favorite things as a younger fan was seeing a guy come in and improve year to year until he was a star on the team. I miss that.
It will be interesting if coaches get creative with HS recruits.Agree 100%.
From watching them in warm ups, maybe some garbage time, to then playing a role.
I feel now with NIL officially here, these trends already happening, etc. it would be a great research study for someone to do to get insights into HS and transfer portal recruiting strategies by coaches, high schooler perspectives on being a prospect, etc. Like I wonder if someone like Eli or similar skillset goes into the process assuming they won't finish at their first school?
I want Battle badBest for both parties on this one. Eli had a long way to go and would probably be wise to move down a level. Truly wish him the best at his next stop!
Meanwhile we have 3 open scholarships and at least 2 of them need to be utilized on scoring guards/wings who preferably can shoot.
This guy is a moron on Twitter.
ISU was dubbed transfser U, both on the in side and the out side,, we have been dealing with this for like 10 years already. Nothing has really changed.Ok, so basically one or two players in a decade. It hasn't been the same at all since the 2017 Seniors graduated.
College basketball is weird now. King 100% should have redshirted, it was clear he wasn’t ready for big 12 basketball yet. It could be a different story after a year of development but apparently college basketball players don’t have time for that. It’s playing time right away or leave. Now, we have to get lucky in the portal(which we never do get the top targets anymore)I hate this new era of college basketball. No more Niang, Naz, and Monte careers anymore.
We are either going to get transfers for a year or two, a one and done like Bielew, or freshman gone because the coach either ran them off or they thought they were alot better than what they are.
Oh for sure. That person clearly was trying to point out something like TJ is doing something wrong lolI mean, this is just the way things are now. If you don’t play at all as a FR, you are most likely transferring. The good thing for us is with TJ, I have full faith that we’ll get more from the portal than we lose.
10 years? Tim Floyd came to ISU almost 30 years ago.ISU was dubbed transfser U, both on the in side and the out side,, we have been dealing with this for like 10 years already. Nothing has really changed.
I don’t want to be too negative, but we haven’t really won a transfer portal since Hoiberg was coaching. Only a handful have been somewhat successfulI mean, this is just the way things are now. Which one? Minnesota or Towson St? I have a better feeling about Towson St Battle personally.I want Battle bad

This is the new era of college basketball. Until I see who makes it back to school next fall I just assume everyone will transfer.Bummer, seems like a good kid, wish him well. Just shows how different the game is now. We heard all year about "Naz didn't play as a frosh...." but that was a decade ago. The CBB landscape is totally different, if Eli wasn't able to see the floor with only 4 guards on the entire roster, he probably just wasn't going to make it.
Do we have two open now?
On the other hand I just expect the freshman who are good to get big NIL deals somewhere else. Weird era!Stinks, but expected with a freshman who didn't play. Hope he lands on his feet
Minnesota. Purely from a shot making perspective.Which one? Minnesota or Towson St? I have a better feeling about Towson St Battle personally.
