Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

A lot of people would consider Utah a "flyover state." When people think Rocky Moutains, they think Colorado.

I get the desire to kill the P10 since they tried to kill us. I don’t want Utah or CU. CU left and should die a slow death in MWC. Utah is a wannabe and is always whining. BYU brings us Utah market. Take WAOR- but no unequal rev. Make a GOR till end of current deal. Colorado fans watch Broncos - maybe Nuggets. College is eh! Flyover Utah has nothing on truck stop states. 300 miles of empty desert in any direction without a truck stop? F that!

Utah wishes they had truck stops...

Drive I-70 after midnight. It is an experience all by itself in the category of is anyone else out there.
Took 140 in northern Nevada and southern Oregon once to head to the southern Oregon coast, that is desolate. Won’t do that again lol.

About 10 years ago a man from Manhattan, NY was found in his van in a ravine off of I-70 5 weeks after being reported missing. If not for a hitchhiker who knows how long before they found him because it's too deep to see from the road and there is nothing and no one out there.

Gonzaga being floated again. So much smoke there has to be an announcement one way or another soon.

Consistent with MHver’s tweet Big 12 meeting on 3/7 could result in basketball only addition(s)

Maybe decisions will be made this month, but any announcement would seemingly come after the NCAA tournament. Although, there are reports of April deadline for George to get a sufficient deal for PAC

Just get one of the 4C, and things start to unravel imo.

This talk of the 4 corner schools leaving to the B12 has to be killing Stewart Mandel, there is no bigger P12 homer than ol Mandel, and his distaste for the B12 over the years has been off the charts.

As the podcast that someone posted yesterday, "no one watches a game thinking about the GPA of the teams on the floor" or "I wonder what is the ACT/SAT you need to get into that university?" The arrogance of P12 will be their undoing.

I understand the resistance to change by Pac12 schools. And the emphasis has been on what the new Pac12 media rights deal might look like financially.

But the question 4 corner schools should focus on is maximizing their revenue potential in 2030 and beyond. If the Pac12 is able to cobble together a media rights deal that University Presidents can live with today, they are just going to go through this same media rights exercise again in 2030. Oregon, Washington, Stanford, etc. are still going to have Big10 aspirations.

Whereas if the 4 corner schools (and possibly others) join the Big12 now, that helps the 16 (or more) schools develop a brand over 6/7 years that can close the gap against the Big10/SEC when the next round of contract talks happen around 2030.

Go Big Pac-age!!
