When someone is bringing a negative energy to a group whether it is at work or in a sports setting, it can have a major effect on everybody else. Removing that negativity can definitely have a positive impact on the team.
Basketball aside- throw scores out the window and pay no attention to the W/L record. What these kids need right now is a nice long road trip. They will be on the road a lot the next few weeks. Get the heck out of dodge. As comfortable as home is, home also has outside distractions. Get away from the distractions and go be teammates living in hotels.

Yep, he could have said about this matter that is private by law: Caleb and the program have decided to go separate ways, he's no longer a member of the team. Now, let's talk about Baylor.
I watched some of the torturous interview and wondered to myself why he didn't just say what I wrote above and move on? I was responding to an earlier poster.

Writing about it being private by law, then slamming what he said implies that you are saying something unlawful happened.
Your implications are completely weird. I responded to a poster who said TJ would have handled it differently with a little more experience as a head coach. I agreed with that take. The matter is private by law, thus there's little to be said other than he has left.
TJ's been coaching for a long time so it's not like he didn't know how to handle an interview with the informatio he had.
And actually it seems the older coaches get the less they give a **** about how they conduct themselves to a bunch of media hacks.
He was transparent about it but still supportive of Grill and is ready to move on. Nothing to really do differently.
There can be even like a kindergarten class that's just fine and then one kid can turn the whole group inside out.
If I had all of my school and expenses paid for maybe I could have afforded a nicer car in college.
So nothing can ever be said definitely but today it sure looks like it was the former. But it doesn't surprise me. I've seen it before. A kid that is causing problems goes and the other kids who have never caused any problems finally feel like the coaches have their back instead of the back of the kid who's causing problems. The announcer just said they are stunned because for the whole game they've talked about that this dismissal thing was such an adversity. In fact it's just the opposite. The adversity was removed.
