It’s not exactly like West Virginia drew up some great plays on offense. They didn’t make a field goal in the last three minutes. Just relied on getting calls and making free throws.

Most of you guys hated the TJ hire from the beginning and were throwing tantrums when we didn't have "a proper coaching search". Now when somebody who has been 100% behind him being the guy in charge since 2015 starts asking a simple question now I'm the bad guy.
I'm simply questioning why this same thing keeps happening over and over. You guys would rather blame it on "refs" or "coin flips" instead of offering some legitimate answers.

In fairness, if your team keeps throwing away games late by giving up too many fouls and free throws, at some point that becomes a coaching problem. It's not like that was an anomaly, we rank 300+ in fouls given up this season. Losing games down the stretch at the FT line is self-inflicted.
After Grill missed the layup with 11 seconds we are down by one. Are there other options beyond fouling at that point? This team forced a miss and a turnover in the last minute of regulation.
This is a pretty limited offensive team. We basically have 2 guys who can dribble in traffic- Lipsey and Holmes. So when opposing teams elevate their on ball pressure and over play passing lanes, our offense can go stagnant if we settle for contested jump shots.
Grill needed to make that shot, he made that tougher than it needed to be. He's taller and a better jumper than Trousant. Come to a jump stop and make him foul you vs. making an off balance layup and counting on getting fouled.
But in the end, this game (and our other recent losses) comes down to teams exploiting our trapping/over-help defense and committing WAY TOO MANY fouls. Out foul problems are mainly self-inflicted. We need to go back to the fundamentals on D.

I think too many ISU fans only watch ISU games and don't realize how often good teams struggle throughout the year and especially on the road. I've watched enough college bball to know end of game shots are more often than not terrible looks. I'm sure it's something TJ will continue to try and improve at though. Also we don't have a bunch of super great creators off the bounce either and we see Holmes and Lipsey struggle sometimes when pressure is ratched up and that usually happens in these situations.
What about the previous 10 minutes to that where WVU barely scored from the floor? Those points came from somewhere.
They came from the foul line in which WVU was in the bonus since before the first TV timeout which is absolutely unprecedented.

It’s such a joke you get this upset about a game you already know the result to. At least the people who were getting upset about it last night actually watched it in the moment. You knew what was coming and are acting this upset? Come on.
And if you think this is the worst game you have seen, did you skip the games where they didn’t break 50 or 40 points last year? Those were so much worse.
