Texas & Oklahoma leaving in 2024, period.

The stress of living in a fishbowl down there will eventually cause a relapse in his drinking issues. Texas football is important enough that it may be swept under the rug (unlike basketball apparently), but it will erode the program over time.
He's 59-46 all time at Washington, USC, and TX.
A guy like Lane Kiffin is 58-33 at Tennessee, USC, and Ole Miss for comparison.
I anticipate both of those guys will have 8-4 type teams for a while.

Difference is that Mississippi fans are semi-realistic about what they are. If Lane can keep them relevant enough to occasionally win a big game that's enough to keep the pressure off. 8-4 is failure at Texas. And they are not patient people.

Yep. Herman was a walking 8-4 at TX.

Never thought the UT juice was worth the squeeze. I really resent the Sooners now though.

There is a lot of smoke from twitter, sports radio, beat writers, etc that they both could be leaving after the current athletic season.

If I was a betting man, I’d bet on them leaving. I think there will be a reduced buyout that lets everybody move on.

Assuming you are talking about them leaving for the 2023 season, I find that incredibly hard to believe. A ridiculous amount of money would need to be paid to the Big 12 and Fox for that

There's no way they'd leave after 2022-23. Not worth believing anyone saying they would.

I want the new teams to play and hopefully beat OuT. I think it will help legitimize those newly elevated teams. There some sentiment out there that the new Big12 will be 33% G5 and a group of less than left-behinds.

Texas and Oklahoma will announce they are leaving a year early. The one year new big12 including OuuT will have Texas at Houston, Oklahoma at Cincinnati in November/December. It wouldn’t surprise me if both play all four teams next year before they leave. Unless for example UCF is supposed to be down, then maybe they get to “miss”them, and lose to another Big12 school instead.

Who cares anymore? Someday they will finally be gone and I think we get some money either way don't we?
