I love Brock and he's been really good, but he's still had 1-2 bad throws most games and has been lucky not to be punished for them. He's hit a defender in the chest a couple times and they just didn't secure it. Like I said, there's probably way WAY more good than bad, but the narrative could be a lot different if some of those plays turned into turnovers. I absolutely agree that he hasn't had anything close to something like that backwards pass at ISU.
Edit: I'm not sure how to exactly quantify what I'm trying to say, but I'm definitely not trying to bag on him at all. The way I see it at the moment is, even with the mistakes, he's probably been a much better than avg NFL QB and with a little luck he's been elite at times.
I agree with you. But when you compare him to a Top 10 QB like Dak Prescott who makes $35 million per year, Dak makes those same "bad" throws each game. The NFL is DIFFICULT and he's done as good as job as possible for a rookie.
To me, how he responds and adapts as team's get more tape on him will be key to his success. A LOT of new QBs come in and have some immediate success like RGIII, Marcus Mariotta, etc but the true elite ones fight through it and take it to the next level. We'll find that out about Brock next year but let's enjoy his ride to the NFC Championship and hopefully the Super Bowl.
It’s happening because the idiots here who blamed him for every loss we had don’t want to admit they are idiots. The nitpicking is occurring because what is happening is so unbelievable that people's brains can't comprehend it.
Who wouldn’t at Alabama. That’s like a high school kid going to play against middle school kids. Anyone is going to look good with all those 5 stars. That's fair, but Jalen had some serious stats at Alabama too:

If you want to go by ESPN's Total QBR, it was his second worst game since he has been the starter and the Miami game. Even still his Total QBR was 53.1 which is a middle of the pack performance. Against a team whose QB was worse because of your defense, it was enough to get it done. His worst was actually the week 18 game against the Cardinals. It was another middling performance, but his team still won by 25 points against a bad team.Right. He’s 8 games into this thing and has yet to have a “bad” game. That’s pretty crazy.

There's a a lot of truth to that statement. The fact that this "undersized", non dual threat, didn't go to a Big 10/SEC, last pick of the draft, humble, non freak of nature, 3rd string QB could come into the NFL and just be successful by doing his job (and doing it well), goes against everything the talking heads and writers say.
Every QB coming out now is supposed to be some freak of nature or have just insane talent levels (Allen, Hurts, Mahomes, etc) and carry the team on their back. The fact that the 49ers are doing it by playing football as a team is just unfathomable to them. Every QB is supposed to keep resetting the market, and, lets be honest in 3-4 yrs when Purdy gets his payday, I don't think he will get the big $$ (if those even exist anymore).
This is a good way of putting it and it is pretty crazy. I'm not eloquent by any means and I think what you're saying here is more of what I was trying to get at earlier. There could have been a "bad" game or two in there if he paid for any of those not so great plays. It's been amazing what he's done and how well it's gone. You'd expect a rookie to have pay for rookie mistakes but he's playing so well they can get glossed over some. Anyway, I'll leave it alone now. Thanks for the discussion.Right. He’s 8 games into this thing and has yet to have a “bad” game. That’s pretty crazy.
The Bears would absolutely destroy Georgia. I mean crime scene footage.I'm amazed how quickly he has adjusted to the speed of the defenses in the NFL. Still a huge jump in speed and talent from any P5 school to the NFL. I've heard the non sense from the casual fan claiming CFPC would give the worst NFL Team a tough game. LMAO
You can't make this **** up. Keith Murphy just called Purdy "the quarterback from Ohio State" on the six o'clock news. We even rewound to be sure that was what we heard.
Oy.
