*** Official #25 IOWA STATE vs Oklahoma Game(Day) Thread ***

Yes
I am a big Robert Jones fan - but I did not think he had a very good game. I would have given Ward some of his minutes. Ward has been productive in the minutes he gets.
Osun finally played like I hoped he would.
we wasted a lot of offensive possessions with him. For some reason whenever he got the ball, he had to try and score. He made a great effort, but just doesn't have the the skills or soft touch to pull it off and what is worse, he didn't have the self awareness to realize he was hurting the team by going to the hole every time he got the ball. All he needed to to was pass the ball back out. if he did so, I don't feel the game would have been so close at the end

I can forgive Holmes missing shots. He’s really is doing a lot for the team. He’s one of the only guys that can get his own shot, has to handle pressure and distribute when Lipsey sits. He wasn’t supposed to play PG at all this year. He had another 4 assists last night.

Once Oklahoma City got an NBA team, it has just killed attendance at both OSU and OU. Why pay for the minor leagues when you can see the stars of the NBA when they come through your town?
Shows the "fans" they have. If Des Moines got a pro team, I would only go if given tickets and NEVER on a day where ISU was playing. Now if it was the choice between ISU badminton and pro basketball, that WOULD be a harder decision.

With this attitude, I have been told I'm not a pure sports fan. If it does not relate to ISU, I really don't care. I am probably an anomaly.

AND, I don't buy the "Oklahoma and Okie St. have good fans, but they were torn away by the pros" stuff. They are either good fans or not. In this case, they just don't have good fans.

I almost feel like maybe the coaching staff has asked Robert to try to draw fouls? He works to get contact on practically every move he makes. AND/OR they instruct him if he is 1 on 1 at least get the ball on the board and we'll crash. OR he really doesn't understand the inside out concept he could provide when the D sinks on him.

I really like him, but sometimes he pushes a little too hard to get his shot up. Most of the time, that ends in the other team getting the ball.

You're not a complete anomaly. I watch almost NO pro sports. Occasional BB game when a couple of Cyclones are in the mix. And I rarely watch non-ISU NCAA football games. OTOH, I'll frequently watch NCAA D1 MBB even if neither team is a member of the B12, and you can't tear me away from the TV during March Madness.

And I have so badly corrupted my husband (who never watched sports at all until he met me) that he now knows many opposing players and coaches, and even recognizes a few of the refs. :D

Great W for the guys. Really tough win and always good to steal one on the road in the B12.

Osun played to his ability and Tamin continued to shine.

I know it was mentioned on a CF pod earlier but I don’t think enough people realize that Tamin could’ve/would’ve been a top 75, 4 star, blue chip recruit coming out HS if it wasn’t for a torn ACL that took him out for a year and half around his soph and junior year (prime recruiting time).

The kid is quick, explosive, smart and has poise like no other freshman in the nation. Really happy he’s a cyclone. We’ve got a good one.

CW made a great point in his postgame about Holmes being the guy we went to when we couldn't get anything going. He had a couple huge buckets after that 20-0 run to kind of settle things down.
