Can someone tell me the most reliable brand. I have a Maytag that's a POS and looking to replace.

GE and Whirlpool are the best, imo. Also made in America so you don’t have to worry about the massive supply shortage in parts.

Love my LG. 11 or 12 years in and never had an issue. Only complaint is that the water filter is in a weird place that's a pain to replace.

My LG French door is about 11 yrs old.
I have the icemaker in the door and if I'm gone for a week the ice will kind of stick together and not want to dispense. Not a big deal to break it up by hand and it only happens like twice a year.

You will find someone that swears by a brand and another that will say they are the worst. It's a crapshoot. My suggestion, get the best deal you can as it probably won't make 10 years. I have 2 GEs. One is a French door over the freezer and something melts and then freezes on the ledge above the freezer. The full French door is better but makes weird noises.

Great TVs and phones bad appliances.
So damn true. Got saddled with a Samsung washer and french door fridge when we bought our house 6 years ago. Neither was all that old, but both have already been replaced.

We replaced the fridge with a french door Whirlpool. Minimal bells and whistles. No water/ice in the door (water is on the inside), no stupid outside access minidoors, and none of that stupid internet connectivity stuff. Still ended up needing to replace a control board like 3 months after we got it, but been a dream since then.

We had an LG fridge that lasted at least 10 years. Had a shelf crack that made it sag and the drawer connected to it was annoying. But the actual refrigeration system was solid.

We bought a Whirlpool with the French doors on top and produce/freezer drawers on the bottom about 5 years ago. It has been flawless.

To me, the bigger issue than brand is where you get it. Find yourself a local appliance store rather than a big box store. Cause even the top brands have issues from time to time. The local stores will take care of you where the big stores are going to send you to some national customer service phone number.

I have an LG, no issues at all and we love it.

I had a GE profile, had to replace the compressor twice in the first 4 years, once under warranty, the other time not. Do not recommend GE appliances.
