49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

He had the equivalent of a perfect game - and it was his only true game. He's bound to have struggles and/or come down to earth - and that same media won't be as nice. I truly hope he continues to have great success, but am also concerned for if there's a big bump in the road tonight.

They (media) have a perfect set up to hit back at a 'welcome to the NFL, he finds out he's not Tom Brady' deal along with probably some dig at the B12 like any collegiate defense is the same type of athleticism and speed as even a bad NFL team.

Get out of here with this reasonable take.

This will be one of those what are you made of moments for him I think. Primetime game in a super hostile environment. Most guys would melt under that spotlight in Brocks position. As cool as it would be to see him win out the regular season I'm convinced he's going to stumble along the way somewhere, hopefully tonight isn't the somewhere.

He will def has his stumbled but I'm not sure we can stress how much being in Shanahan's offense helps. Its practically developed for guys like Brock to flourish. Now, he'll def make rookie mistakes that's just inevitable.

I am all in for the game tonight. If I see inside run right, left or up the middle from shotgun then I will know it is just me causing those play calls through watching!

Listed as questionable, yet expected to start. I'm trying not to get too hyped in case this injury could cause ineffectiveness.

Brock's biggest 'stumbles' in his time at ISU was when he took on unnecessary pressure to make something happen, or the random start of the game pick on a slightly underthrown out route in our own territory.

Brock's tailor-made for SF and I *think the pressure of the NFL should keep his backyard mishaps at bay.

Think of the number of WTF plays Mahomes have made that have worked out for the Chiefs. Brock had a number of plays like this for ISU, but most of them didn't work out. Not throwing shade, but aside from those handful of plays, Brock was as solid as solid could be for ISU.

Purdy is going to look like a rookie at some point in the remainder of this season and that's ok. I just hope he doesn't fall too far from the insane high peak he sits on now. Last week was a ton of fun, he deserves some serious accolades, and I'm happy for him, but the response has been a wild overreaction by the media (as they love to do).

The real question is do I dare start Kenneth Walker against that niner defense tonight? Chubb is locked in as my RB1, but my other RB's are Monty and Rashaad White. I also have Michael Carter but that ain't happening. It's the playoffs!

As others have mentioned, SF would be wise to run the ball often tonight and let Brock hit some easy play action throws. My Panthers murdered the Seahawks with the rushing attack last week. McCaffrey should have no issues getting some good yards tonight.
