Iowa Football Recruiting

Is there a connection to McNamara? Otherwise why would he choose Iowa of all places? I'm guessing he will have a pretty big list of suitors. Sure the starting job would be his but why would he want to play in that offense?
Lol he’s not even considering iowa.

They have no WRs, average TEs, the OL wasn’t good this year, they were one of the worst offenses in college football this year.

He will probably go to a PAC12 school

Kakert amongst others has indicated there’s “mutual interest”. Would be a really big get.

Seems to be a lot of smoke, but I won't believe it until I see it. With NIL and Iowa's offense, I bet he goes somewhere else when it is all said and done.
About the biggest upside they could sell is he won’t really have to compete for the position. At least not as much as his other likely options.

Would it really matter? Kirk is still calling the plays and the Oline still stinks. It's never mattered who the QB is outside of one that is actually mobile like Brad Banks. Cade isn't Brad Banks.

They’d been 10-2 this year with even a below average offense vs the hot dumpster fire they rolled out this year. O line you can see improving with basically Sophomores and Freshmen getting the lions share of snaps. Hopefully Proctor stays on board. He’d be an immediate upgrade at one of the tackle positions. Add in another portal guy on the line with Proctor and they can get back to at least a top 100 offense with someone like McNamara. So no, McNamara himself isn’t going to fix the offense but an undeniable significant upgrade at the most important position would be a great start.

Obviously Iowa can sell the idea of playing time to a transfer QB but would they want to come there based upon the system. I mean, Charlie Jones has shown everyone what a system can do for a player.
I won't argue Charlie made the right decision especially given how he was being uses but there's usually not perfect fits like that. Before Petras the last 2 starters at quarterback got drafted.

Does McNamara really want to be the next Petras??

Sitting on the bench for Michigan would be better off for his future than starting at Iowa next year.

And their offense is too complicated to learn in a year.
