Jeremiah Williams out for the year

Best wishes to him on his recovery. I know Achilles injuries are never fun to recover from.

From a season outlook standpoint, I don't think this is a situation where the season is over before it even starts. I think Lipsey was going to be starting PG, even before this news, playing a role similar to Haliburton in his freshman year. The freshmen definitely need to step up now to fill the void.
It’s not over, but we weren’t planning on the true freshman to be the starter at any point before or after we lost our starter to Texas.

So PG will be some combo of the St Bonnie transfer, Lipsey, and Kalscheur?

If he gets healthy and sticks it out, how old would he be as a senior? Just wondering if that's the only upside.

The transfer rules should lead to college players being slightly younger on average with exceptions like this for injuries...although some of the fringe players who leave for pros and go undrafted to Gleague may be more likely to stay an extra year or two because of NIL money. Might cancel out.

This hurts for depth that is for sure. However, although while Lipsey may not be Hunter........he is no slouch.

He was going to start the season as the starter, I think Lipsey was going to start eating into his minutes more and more if not take over before seasons end. Either way a big loss for easing Lispey in, and depth. Grill got a little PG experience at UNLV, hopefully Lipsey, Holmes, and King are all better options though.

How ****** can we get at PG. Hunter transfers late. Green strings us along for as long as possible so we can't recruit any other point guards. Williams out for the season.

Doesn't get much worse.

The UNI types on here informed me AJ isn't really a PG -- more of a combo who leans SG.

He woulda played a good amount of PG for us I'm sure with Holmes, Gabe, and Grill being off the ball.

I thought the idea would have been to try to keep him off the ball to feature him as a SG, which is what he projects as at the next level. But then he had to go and just make the next level anyways.

He was going to be the PG, and probably play some off the ball minutes when Lipsey came in.
