This was my bold prediction for the year that he scores an offensive touchdown.
I've been really happy with the offense, but I would not mind if we cut out the quarterback runs
I am surprised at how ineffective the QB runs have been. Obviously they have seen him run so they know he is capable. Not ready to give up on the play. Maybe he is just tipping the play off somehow.
Hunter has been a little tentative and hesitant on his runs. He needs to commit to his move up field or sprint to the corner if that is what there. I think it is just a matter of experience and getting a feel for the speed of P5 defenses, he should get better.
I think all of you saying Dekkers isn't running well are just too used to Purdy. A 4-5 yard qb run is success every time. Are there going to be some 0 yard runs? Sure. But it makes the defense defend all 11 players. One of J. Brock's runs against Iowa was a zone read handoff that went for 12ish yards.
Or Manning could just call a QB sneak on the goal line

I was actually impressed on the QB sneak plays that the line actually got push forward. We didn't do that well trying to sneak Purdy. His best runs seemed less designed runs and more the ability to scramble so effectively. I would take another "Marv Seileresque" run!
Kid came here to play DL. Let's let him focus on that.
Practice time is limited. Let him be a DT first. He didn't come here to be a gadget.

Dekkers had two nice runs in the first half where he took what was there and put his head down for 6-8 yards. He struggled on the QB powers in the red zone because he tried to bounce them to the outside. I like what I've seen from him as long as he understands you can't bounce at this level. He's strong and has better top end speed than Purdy.
HE busted a 50 yard run against KU last year. The kid has some wheels, just hasn't shown a lot so far this year. In the first game he had a couple decent runs, but ran out of bounds to avoid any contact, which I am sure exactly what the coaches want.
