Tebow's flair for the dramatic

Yeah. He's a heck of an athlete, no doubt. I do think he loves all the attention. Hope he enjoys it in college...

I think this is being slightly blown out of proportion... But with all the other Tebow love it does seem a bit over the top.

FWIW, I didn't quite understand the hate for Tebow (or at least for all of the coverage of him). But when I saw this story, my first reaction was to question why he would do such a thing? The only thing I can come up with is that he likes the attention.

I have nothing against Tebow. It's the media's lovefest for him that tires me. That announcer during the BCS title game... I wanted to puke. He sounded like a lovestruck teenager.

Actually, who he reminded me of wasthe dad in Step Brothers whenever Brennan's brother Derek was around...

agreed there benjy. i actually spent the last year trying to hate tebow, because i despise all things SEC, and i realized i cannot hate him.

and for those who say "enjoy it now tebow, you wont make it in the pros," if i am an NFL gm, i take a reach on tebow in the second round. he will never be the prototype NFL qb, but he just oozes heart. he will play somewhere, even if he is only a special teams standout ala brendon ayabadajeo. and he would certainly be a fan favorite, as long as he wasnt taken i nround 1.

They probably get sick of the media attention he gets too. Or maybe he's an egomaniac and nobody on the team likes him. /shrug

I don't necessarily like the guy, but I can't blame him. The guy has thousands of people eating out of the palm of his hand, not many people will get to experience something like that in their lives.

If you hate the guy why bring more attention to what he does?

That's what I'm trying to say. I don't hate him, and I largely didn't understand why so many people complained about him and/or the media coverage of him. But then I saw this story, where he apparently made a big show of ripping off his sling and saying "I'll be fine." I've heard people say that one of the remarkable things about the guy is that, despite all of the attention, he's selfless and humble. But why would you do something like that unless you wanted to make a big deal out of yourself?

The reason I'm bringing it up is because I'm trying to say it may be changing my opinion.

That, and because I'm killing time waiting for the championship games to start.

He is a favorite of the team, Spikes said he was coming back only because Tebow did, and he plays D. Sounds like someone the team doesn't like. I don't understand why some people would dislike a young man who does the things off the field he has done. I venture to say all the haters have done little to help others they don't know.

I agree with what you guys have said 110 percent, and I'm a Florida fan. Tim Tebow is a great guy and a great college quarterback, but there has to be something else for the media to drool over. This has got to stop.

I don't know how many times I saw his speech in the downtime from the SEC Title Game to the BCS Title Game... not once did they play this speech during the regular season, let alone after the loss TO Mississippi.

I'm sure there are more amazing athletes out there than Tim. I'm not trying to take anything away from him, but I myself find all this conversation about him to become a little irritating.

I know for a fact that there are several Gators that can be discussed during a game as far as having an impact off the field and never giving up. For instance, Louis Murphy and Javier Estopinan.
