Lets get peoples opinions on who will win their division, .....
Who will be the surprise team and who will be the WTF team.

Maybe Brianhos can set something up so we can get paid

Now this is a great post!!!

Central Division (Royals fan) but I think the Tigers will win the division. I think they are going to retaliate.

Suprise team is Nationals. I think they will do well.

WTF team is the Angels.

too early to tell, still ALOT of moves to be made...

I agree, as there are still free agents out there and spring training yet to start, but I'll go ahead just for fun! These will probably change for me

AL East: Red Sox
AL Central: Tribe (but I'd take my Twinkies!)
AL West: As
AL Wild Card: Twins

WTF Team: Yankees/Angels/Rays - Everyone expects them to do well, but I could see them faltering compared to last year.

Suprise Team: Blue Jays - It won't show in their record, but they will be much better than it. It's just going to be impossible to have a great record with all of the good teams in the East.

I think the Rays are last year's Rockies in a way. I think the Rays are competitive, but I think that the AL East will beat each other up so much that the wild card will not emerge from their division. In the AL Central, the problem with the Indians was pitching. If they get back on tracking like 2 years ago with that, they will be good.

I think the Angels are just plain old. I also would like to see the overrated Torii Hunter do poorly. I have been anti-Hunter since he turned down the Twins $15 mil per year. I get he could take more money, if he would've signed he would've been that guy, reminiscant of Puckett taking less money to stay with the Twins....

If you look at the As, you don't think playoff team, but Beane knows what he's doing. I refuse to count them out in a very winnable division.

NL East: Phillies
NL Central: Cubs
NL West: Dodgers (unless Manny signs with another West Team)
NL Wildcard: Astros

WTF Team: Mets. They are getting older. Santana is overrated (as is most pitching these days). It's fun to watch them collapse because the media goes nuts about it.

Surprise Team: Astros

Again, these will probably change. I officially think the NL West is so bad that any of those teams could win...

Cubs prove yet again that money can't buy them pennants, Cards win division after a slow start, as pitchers start to round into shape.

Any guesses as to who will be the breakout team? It seems there always is one these days. I think the Rangers may finally get over the hump...

A couple things about the Rangers (at least for me):

  1. They had a good offense last year (actually #1 in the AL), but Hamilton had a crazy year. I wouldn't expect him to do the same this next year, although he probably won't regress. Also, Bradley is gone. He's a headcase, but he can play
  2. They haven't done anything to improve their HORRIBLE pitching.
  3. Michael Young is going to be out it seems. Now they may be able to get some pitching in exchange, and I know they have a stud SS in their system as well so offensivley it won't be too horrible if he's gone. If Young is traded for decent pitching, then I could see the Rangers improving....
If they can address their pitching and their offense remains potent, then I believe they could win an extremly winnable division...

They also have the number one farm system.
They have a couple of pitchers coming back from injury this year.
They still may sign one or two free agent pitchers (Sheets).
The Angels havent really improved this offseason and are getting older FAST.
Oh, and they have a chance to have Jenny Finch in the stands alot!

Those are all good points. I guess I was going off of right now, but you are right that a lot can happen between now and April 6th. I posted earlier that I was not impressed with the Angels age, so I agree that the AL West is very winnable...

For those of you who predicted that the Yankees won't make the playoffs again -- why? Chemistry?
