people complaining about not enough rain and not being able to mow their lawns - what the hell, not mowing is a blessing.

I used the string trimmer yesterday to cut down some crabgrass by my mailbox that was still growing, but otherwise I think I only had to mow twice in July.
Listen, some of us have small children that we’re trying to abandon and they won’t let us do it because of love or some dumb crap. Mowing is living the dream. No one bothering you for food or climbing on you for a whole hour? Yes sir!
Not saying this to you specifically, but I love when people get up in arms about those that care about their lawn. I know quite a few people that would consider lawncare to be one of their biggest summer hobbies.
I fall firmly in the middle - I don't need to have the best lawn in the neighborhood, but I damn sure don't want the worst.
Consider yourself lucky. 40 minutes of lightning and thunder and barely enough to wet the bottom of the gauge in West Ames. Looked like about 0.06" to me.
I wake up around 2 to go to the bathroom. I go back to bed and notice our neighbor's outside light is on and she is collecting rain water in bowl and pouring it into a 5 gallon container. SMH. It was like she was bailing water out of a boat.
I’m not sure what’s weirder, that…..or that you’re sitting there watching what your neighbors doing at 2 in the morning
maybe a couple consecutive years of dry and hot air will help that town smell less?

I'm not sure we got enough rain to wet the pavement in SW Ames.
Or the fact that the you're just a weird poster on here... Do you want a layout of the proximity of our bedroom to their side garage door and downspout of which is around 10'?
