SO we're going to potentially let AZ only in? They are another KS, are we that sure it breaks the rest of the PAC?
I would be surprised if we hear anything from the Pac12 until after the Big10 announces their deal. It seems like the Big10 TV $ will set the benchmark for any potential Pac12 or Big12 deals. Also who is & who isn't part of the Big10 deal would dictate who's a player in potential Pac12 or Big12 TV deals.
I wouldn't be surprised if the is Pac12 movement in August/September. But it could just as likely happen next spring. After all, even before the USC/UCLA news, the Big10 hadn't announced their new TV deal and it starts July 2023.
So SDSU, Boise State, SMU, or Fresno State.
Interesting note that they’re waiting until the Big 10 negotiations conclude though because I feel like that only makes them more susceptible to losing their top brands if dominos fall the wrong way- feels like they’re kind of at the vulnerability of Notre Dame’s discretion with that one too.
Even if the top programs stay, who’s to say they won’t leverage unequal revenue distribution as a demand?
You are mostly right....but they like money more... so if it comes down to money all bets are off.

I think so. It is really a numbers game with the Pac. Every school that leaves is just one more spot to backfill, and there aren't any great options out there for them to add. With the B12 already scooping up BYU, Houston, Cincy, and a few years ago TCU, the Pac is left with the leftovers of the leftovers.
They are stuck looking at SDSU, Boise, UNLV, SMU, etc. None of those schools are going to raise the payout on what is already looking like the lowest value contract in P5. The more you add, the lower that number goes, and the more tempting it is for others to leave.
You also have challenges with some of the snooty coastal schools. Are they going to be able to get behind some of these schools like a Boise that is lacking on the academic side? Or are they going to get over the hurdle of the religion thing with an SMU? If not, you have to dip even further into the list of G5 leftovers.
You get one more like Arizona out and the Pac future looks even worse for the remainder, which pushes someone else over the fence. It is like falling Domino's, we just need to do what we can to get it started.
I don't think the Pac12 has a choice. The Big10 is the big dog in the rights negotiations.

- Apple jumped back into the Big10 negotiations when USC & UCLA were added. If they don't get part of the Big10 deal, do they go aggressive with Pac12?
Unlike Bowlsby, who wasn't even shooting his mouth off but simply spoke prematurely at last year's Big 12 media days, Kliavkoff has the luxury of not really caring about the ramifications of being wrong - because if that happens, he'll have no conference left to save.

Precisely. This is strategic...just jockeying for position.
I mean, he's probably not wrong. I would imagine the Big 12 was pretty aggressive in trying to scoop a handful of Pac-12 schools. The problem is, I can't really see any of the existing Big 12 schools joining the Pac-12 under any circumstances. It feels more likely it'll be the other way around, if anything, unless Apple strikes out with the Big 10 and comes through with a sweetheart deal that makes the Pac-12 more appealing.
Which means he isn't shopping there but there are a couple of P12 teams that are.
That is interesting. Sounds like 1996 all over again when the Texas governor made the Big 8 accept Baylor and Tech to get Texas and A and M. Will see if this is a poison pill.
