Show me a feasibility analysis on the demand for more suites at Jack Trice. I will agree, I'd love to have a tower similar to the one at Kinnick, but that tower is also the only place in that stadium they have suites. We have 43 suites at Jack Trice and Iowa has 46, just for reference.

If JP is serious about football, he'd get going on a press box project. We probably have the least impressive press box in the P5
You know what makes all those "sky boxes" different?Agree to disagree I guess. I've gone to Iowa, WVU, NC State games, and WVU and ISU stick out with how small the press boxes are. I just think it looks a little minor league, and out of place for a stadium so big. A full length press box really makes everything feel more "big time" if that makes any sense.
How many suites do we have and how many does your favorite stadium out east have? Just curious how many the average awesome stadium around the country has vs us.We were not selling premium seating in the South endzone, and I have never heard about the boxes not selling out. Businesses will spend the money if we give them the opportunity and put a good product on the field.
Why did EIU rebuild their North endzone with more boxes and premium seating, because that is where the money is at to be made. We need to follow their example, and they are having no problem selling those seats.
No offense intended. I understand your perspective, but one must question the underlying objective. Cowtailing to the media for the purpose of glamour can be done in other ways much more cost effectively. I'd even question sky boxes for the elite as the ROI just doesn't seem to be there. And, then throw in advances in technology (ie drones, mulizoned televising, etc) and it just doesn't seem to make sense to spend the money on something which would require significant engineering.I get it's not a priority, but it's embarrassing imo. I've been to a few other college stadiums and it's always the first thing I noticed. It would really change the feel in the stadium for the better.
We have 43, Iowa has 46. Another thing people don’t realize is that these suites aren’t like they are at the Iowa Cubs where you can get game by game boxes. These are 10 year lease agreements that cost around $50,000 at minimum, when comparing to other schools around us like IllinoisHow many suites do we have and how many does your favorite stadium out east have? It seems many of you dont realize ours are between decks vs theirs in a sky box.
What I'd like to see is them remove the current suites between the levels and make them box seating. A long club area behind with separate boxes with 10-12 outdoor seats in front. Then get rid of the 3 level press box and build a 2 level press box with suites (and press and coaches boxes of course) spanning the length of the field. I think that would kind of complete the stadium. That said, it's a huge investment and probably way down the priority list.
My list would be:
1. Hilton concourse expansion.
2. JTS and Hilton video boards
3. P&L area (not sure how much the AD would have to kick in here).
4. Renovating Stephens and Fisher.
5. Expansion of Scheman connecting to Hilton with flat space for conferences.
6. A smaller venue for VB and Wrestling
7. JTS press box
Like I said, like you, I’d love to have a fancy tower (or two) that spans the entire length of the field and make the stadium look even more badass, but we have to think rationally here. There is no demand to double our premium suite seething at the moment, therefore it’s pretty low on the priority list of major capital projects.Well, I didn't expect there to be this much backlash. I'm guessing based on everyone's reaction that this has been discussed on the board before. I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers or be annoying.
So now I am an Iowa fan, because I disagree with the idea that JTS has enough suites? Upgrading seating and suites are where the money is being made now, not in selling season tickets for $500 bucks each, but in selling premium seating at $1000 to $1500 a season. How many suites do we have and how many does your favorite stadium out east have? For someone that donates very little to the athletic dept you sure are passionate about premium seating. If it made financial sense Pollard would have already done it.So now I am an Iowa fan, because I disagree with the idea that JTS has enough suites? ISU is on the outside looking in if this so-called super conference is formed, the goal of the athletic department should be to make every effort to get into that league if it forms. Because once it's all said and done, fan attendance is going to drop in the schools that are not in that league.
I'm convinced. I'll be cutting a check tomorrow to cover it. Now let's go out and win, baby! What I'd like to see is them remove the current suites between the levels and make them box seating. There is demand for more Trice club type seating
#4. Knock down Fisher. Make that a several thousand seat arena for wrestling, V-ball, gymnastics, and other non-athletic events.
