Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

ESPN owning that, and owning the SEC contract might be all it takes....You have to think they are looking very hard at how to get their big brands together in the SEC.
True from a brand standpoint, but ESPN got the ACC on the cheap- Clemson the top ACC school made like $40M last year.

Before today I would agree. But I just don’t know anymore. The money is so ridiculously large

They don’t even need ND anymore.

They might like keeping big ten name and have two ten team leagues or even a promotion relegation system schedule of the two actual big tens.

They might like the idea of their teams like NW and Indiana making more football media money than Notre Dame.

Eventually we may be able to play regional opponents and rivalries and then divvy up the money based on how many people watch a given school's games. Ohio State and Alabama can get more cash but OSU doesn't have to play at UCLA or Rutgers, and Alabama doesn't need to go to Mizzou.
It's gonna go full influencer before too long. Each school has a code they will give to their fans to enter for the streaming service the games are on. They payout to each school is proportional to the number of people that bought the streaming service.

I think this is one of the big challenges for the new Big12 Commish. Creating a mindset where basketball value is in the conversation with football. After all there are 30+ contests vs 12.
Basketball will never be in the conversation with FB. Pipe dream and it's silly to value basketball in realignment.

Is there any chance of the top ACC being reach out to by the Big12?

If they could get out of acc east they’d already be in sec.

Best Pac teams now (Oregon and Wash are gone) and/or wait for the acc thrift store sale when that conf gets destroyed in coming years.

The end of this thing is not a power league where Clemson, UNC and fsu are outside and vandy is in.

Conflicting reports here. (I deleted two earlier posts.)

there is your 4 team pod.....UCLA, USC, Oregon and Washington.

why do I feel like Iowa is going to end up falling into a pod like Nebby, Minny and Illinois.

Man, if this is true, then the Pac12 is dead and I can't see them recovering. They are geographically screwed.
that only leaves 8 teams. if we grab 4 then 4 teams are pretty much facing some very tough times. Feels like our big east option days.
I don't see how WSU, Oregon State survive. Cal and Stanford would have to land somewhere, but where? I can't imagine them joining the MWC.

I agree. Think WSU and Oregon State are screwed. They will be playing MWC football soon.
