Rhoads has said on numerous occasions that he will not be the DC. He said head coaching duties take up too much time to devote the energy needed to be defensive coordinator.
Hoping for the guy from Clemson myself....although I can't imagine why it would not have been announced yet.

David Blackwell - ties to PR at Pitt, coached under Coach Rhoads from 2000-2002......looks to be an excellent recruiter as well - but, is he an excellent coach, at this stage with this hire, thats what its all about!!!!!

I heard Rhoads had a change of heart and decided to replace Herman with Carmen Electra as the OC.
Sounds like someone has a mancrush on the coaches that goes just a little too far:biglaugh:
Dan McCarney is still a rather divisive figure in the ISU community. If you don't believe that, then I suggest you check out any thread in which his name comes up.
If DM were hired, he would have to succeed, or it would likely end up being one of the ugliest and most destructive chapters in the history of the ISU athletic department. Can you imagine the mess if PR had to fire DM?
It would just really surprise me if ADJP were willing to take on the downside risks by making such a hire. If he he did do it, it would suggest to me that certain large donors would have to be calling the shots in the ISU athletic department...
So you know enough about him to want him as your DC, but you didn't even know his name? Do you really know anything about him beyond what can be inferred from the post (i.e. he is from Clemson)? :wink:
