2022 Recruiting/Transfer Class

Jones won't leave, taking 3 bigs will really screw Kunc though as King you obviously know will be ahead of him on the depth chart. Personally I have a difficult time believing we sign two more bigs because any we sign wouldn't do so unless they believe they are starting. I guess we could see Basile and Bates comitt but think Ward would at least consider looking elsewhere.

I can’t envision a situation where both Basile and Bates commit. My guess it’s one or the other. Either one would likely be playing 20+ minutes a game.
 
FWIW, I think Holmes is a lock to commit sometime soon. The fact he entered the portal then almost immediately was visiting ISU is telling.

I know there has been a lot of noise around AJ Green, Duke fans (now that they are aware of him) want him. But I still think he ends up at ISU.

Council and Bates: I have kinda in the same "maybe" tier. The thing with them is that they both have more than one year left to play at the college level which is often overlooked. I would assume a lot of teams are in and out on them and it would be awesome to get one of em.

Aaaaand that's it. Think the staff has pretty much locked their sights on where our last 3 spots are going and the guys we are contacting are back up plans. With how things are playing I feel like there's a non 0 chance we could be just on AJ Green watch the rest of the way after this week

Manny Bates reportedly on a visit today.

I don't think we will end up getting Basile, but would take him in a heart beat. I do think we have a really good shot with Bates, and he has been the guy I've wanted since looking up his numbers a month ago, or whenever he hit the portal.

I don't think Ward would leave though because I think he would be in the same boat King is in now. Where he didn't play at G-Town, but still has to sit out. I'm not sure if that's accurate, but I know he was officially announced as a Cyclone last week.

I like Kunc, and what he brings to the table, but I'm all for the Iron sharpens iron theory. If we have a chance to get someone that MIGHT be a slight upgrade (maybe) then you have to take that chance. Then let the rest play itself out.

I believe Ward is free to leave up until the day he enrolls, transfers don't sign LOI. King enrolled at Georgetown .
