WATCH: Hason Ward scores 14 points in VCU win over St. Peter's

Feels like both Williams and Ward are guys that might want to get out and run and have skill sets that excel with that. Will be interesting to see if that ends up being a bit more of the game plan.

Ward has the ability to adjust to the ball and finish which was lacking from last years team. I don't think Williams and Ward move the needle offensively from last years team but actually improve the D IMO. There are still 3 scholarships to add to the offense BVP and/or Basile this week would be a great compliment to Ward style of play. I am also cautiously optimistic the 3 freshman can com and contribute early and improve the bench scoring TJ had with Tre and Jaden.

Agreed. Not gonna hold my breath on any of the freshman specifically, only because I've seen other go through guys in the range they're all in and generally the freshman year isn't spectacular. BUT, between injuries to King and Lipsey and the misuse? (just what I've seen) of Watson in AAU, all three could be underrated for sure. I'd be shocked if there wasn't at least one that breaks out a bit next year.

Regardless though, Ward is a high level athlete at his size and has a fairly high ceiling as a rim-runner/Jameel McKay type IMO. As you said, he fits really well next to a Vander Plas or a Basile. If they both want to come, that's a great problem to have. Even with the potential loss of Hunter, I do think improvement year-over-year is attainable. Excited to see where the staff goes from here.

I'd say we'll run but that all depends on rebounding.

I'll add this...
Hasam looks like he's got some decent ball handling skills/decent shot (HS tape atleast). Anybody have his shooting percentages at VCU?

Is it correct that he will be a Senior with a possible Covid year as well?

59% from 2 ... here's additional info.

Interesting. Almost 0 3-point attempts/makes while at VCU. Of course he will come here and "try that on for size".

I'm just kidding. He will be a rim runner and mid range guy. But wouldn't it be cool if he was able to make a few 3's? He looks like he's got a decent stroke.
