What music are you listening to right now?

Man, a Jack White concert is an all-time "Boy I'd love to see a set list before I commit to going" kind of concert. The White Stripes are my all time favorite band, and I also love the Raconteurs. But his solo stuff doesn't do it for me.

Not sure where you live but I would recommend the Starlight show in KC. While the Des Moines show is likely closer for many, Starlight is one of the best venues in the country, especially as an outdoor theatre (better sound than Red Rocks). The Val Air will be more intimate (smaller), but venue quality is huge for a show like this and you can't beat a great artist at Starlight.

Been on a big AIC and Soundgarden kick lately.

Was at the Starlight show in KC that was two days (2nd to last show) before Cornell died. I was pissed they didn't play Pretty Noose, as it's one of my favorite songs. When I woke up to the news that Wednesday morning I couldn't help feeling guilty that they didn't play the song. Made me think they avoided it on purpose and it signaled what was coming.

I have been super bummed to miss The Record Company when they've been local a couple of times. Once was in Omaha, and it was just a little far. But I believe once was at Wooly's, and I really have no excuse for that other than that I'm old and I think it was a day when I had to be up really early the next day. I really like their sound.

Make it a priortiy. They usually come to KC and when they have they ALWAYS throw down. Definitely one of the better live acts out there right now.

Thank you - I'd wondered if they were worth a drive! I'll keep my ears open now!

This is super cool. I didn't discover Type O Negative until a few years after Peter Steele died, so unfortunately I would never be able to see them live. Anyway, this guy apparently has a remarkable ability to sound like any lead singer. Here's his rendition of Duran Duran's Hungry like the Wolf, but as if Type O Negative performed it. He frigging nails it.

Going to see Kid Rock tomorrow night. Listening to his stuff right now.
I was talking to someone just the other day that said they saw him in the late 90s at I think first Ave in Minneapolis. Said it was fantastic then and still is now. Which shocked me, honestly.

I'm sure nobody on here has heard of these guys, but L'imperatrice is an amazing French band without a weak link. They will sing in French and English, but I often prefer the French offerings even though I have no idea what they are saying. Great rhythm guitar parts, bass grooves, and an alluring female lead to top it off. Agitation Tropicales, Sonate Pacifique, and Le Baron Rouge are a few of the tracks I'd check out. This is an amazing live, promotional performance they did at the Grand Palais in France. The cinematography and location only add to this performance.

Will be flying to LA to see them with Inner Wave in a about a week. Saw them in Chicago a few years and it was fantastic.
