*** Official Oklahoma State vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

This is Big 12 basketball we are talking about. Top to bottom a significantly better conference that what you are used to watching in the B1G. Okie State would do quite well against B1G competition. Not saying they would win the B1G, but they would definitely be in the upper half of the league.

That said, this will be a close game that can go either way.
Very interesting to see how the leagues differ. As far as NET goes, there is some clustering in the Big 12, but there’s a somewhat distribution from the top down to WVU at 78.

Big 10 is completely bi-modal: Purdue, Wisc, Illinois, OSU, Iowa, MSU, MI and Indiana bringing up the rear of the top 8 at 43. Then you have to get to the 80s with Rutgers before Big 10 teams start popping up again.

Rutgers is wild. 5-5 vs Q1 but 3 Q3-4 losses.

Tonight will be a challenge. Escape with a W and no worse than a 7.

What I'd really like to see is a broadcast from ESPN+ that doesn't take me back to antenna TV days. ESPN+ broadcasts have been ridiculously choppy and fuzzy for me and I can't wait to stop paying ESPN for the privilege of having to view their crap product.

The Cowboys haven't played a "bad" game since the middle of Jan.. 3 straight OT games. 6 of their 10 conference losses are by 5 points or less.

They also match-up well to us. Cisse could be a BIG problem tonight. He could really affect our ability to attack the basket. He's been GREAT as of late

We will need a strong shooting night or force them into a lot of turnovers to win.
OSU did get trounced by KU back in February. They were down by 22 with about 5 min left in the game, but KU didn't score in the last 5 min, so the final score looked more respectable. But other than that, as you say, they haven't had any other real bad games over a 2-month stretch.

Any guarantee JorBo doesn’t get two more?
My Hawk loving father in law is not one of the Hawk fans too crazy about Jorbo. Might be the one thing saving our relationship, besides his daughter. Anyway, he has this sarcastic theory that Jorbo may have some offseason surgery and try to join the women's team next year so he can win a championship with Caitlin. I don't find the joke to be in the best taste necessarily, but do give him a courtesy chuckle when he says it.

Since this is our senior night I wish our own broadcast team could do this game. These 2 guys did the road isu/osu game and these guys are pretty osu homers.
Agreed. Manzer is fine in general, but not when OSU is involved. Pretty sure he attended and played there

It's funny when you see a Marcus Fizer highlight or something I remember watching and it looks terrible. Like, NBA Jam for Gameboy level of graphics. It didn't seem that bad at the time.

Now imagine what some of these ESPN+ games will look like in 20 years . . . o_O

As far as game expectations/predictions go, I don't have a great feel for this one. Senior night in Ames, but what does it really mean? We only have one 4-year guy, and everyone else has been here for a calendar year or less. Everyone could come back in theory. Not sure that "want to" will be higher than any other game.

Oklahoma State is a tough nut to crack. Seems like they will always compete for the first 20 minutes no matter who the opponent is. Their record isn't great, but seems like it could be much worse given they haven't had a carrot to chase all year. People may forget this, but Bryce Williams missed the game in Stillwater. I believe he's back, and he is their third leading scorer and tied for first in assists.

This one will probably be too uncomfortable to handle once again. Only way it isn't nip and tuck is if Iowa State comes out with a barrage of scoring and Oklahoma State comes out a little cold. If we get up big early, I don't think OSU has the shooting to get back in it. At this point in the season, we might catch them with a little quit in them, their eyes focused on spring break. I hope that happens, but I can't predict it. Our guys don't shoot as well in Hilton this year. We're gonna have a nailbiter.

Manzer did play at OSU two seasons from '92 to '94. He only averaged about 10 minutes a game.

I'll take Manzer over McClure any day. But I will say I think that as he does more games King is getting a little bit better.

Time for Caleb to fix that. He has been a totally different three point shooter on the road (.585) vs. at home (.284).

EDIT: I will say that his .500 neutral court percentage bodes well for the post season. Please ignore the small sample size...

I prefer Manzer over McClure too. Although I am not a McClure hater like some are on here. I agree he's gotten better, but probably still the worst analyst option currently available to ISU/Big 12 teams.

I agree. It'd be nice to see him figure out tonight especially, send our seniors out of Hilton on top. I'd take another 6/10 night from him gladly.
