Anyone else check this out?

It's a take off on a British show with the same concept.

Essentially, Will Arnett plays a homicide investigator, and each episode he is assigned a new partner, played by a celebrity. And there's a different case to solve. But the celebrity partner has not been given a script and are tasked with just going along for the ride and solving the murder.

6 Episodes in the season. I've watched the first three, and it's a pretty funny concept. The best parts are when the guest does something that makes Arnett break character, and watching him try to cover it.

Conan O'Brien's episode was exactly what you would expect and it was pretty funny. There's a scene where they are eating sloppy joes that had me dying. Surprisingly Marshawn Lynch was quite good as well. He really got into the character.

I'm not sure how long the gimmick will remain funny, but for now it's definitely worth checking out

I'm glad to hear good news about this. It looked like there was a good mix of celebrities, and I added this to my list this past weekend. Will Arnett is someone I like, but I felt like he was in everything for awhile and I got a bit burned out on him.

2 episodes in. Totally forgot to even pay attention to clues in the first one, so I didn't have it figured out. Second one I got easily.

Lynch definitely has the chops to get into acting if he wants. I was impressed with his episode.

Agreed. His felt more natural than Conan's. Conan played into the bit a little too hard and he just looked awkward at times. Lynch rolled with the scenes rather well.

When the guy came at them with a bat, and he went right at him and tackled him onto a couch, I lost it. I don't think the actor was expecting that.

That's just Conan, though. He's not a natural actor at all. I don't think he can cover the awkwardness.

I don't know. He has improv and sketch comedy background. It's probably more he has cultivated the awkward guy schtick over the years and leaned into it a bit much here.

I was laughing pretty hard during Conan's episode when Arnett kept putting hot sauce on his sloppy sandwich and he was struggling to eat it.

One of my favorite parts of Marshawn's episode is when he was walking into the cop building and knocked the papers out of a random actors hands

Both of those were fantastic.

The hot sauce was amazing if only for Conan's face. He legit didn't enjoy it.

And Marshawn knocking the papers was inspired improv work.

I watched two episodes and thought it was OK. Not something I want to necessarily watch 10 of

I’m kind of split on that first episode, but I’ll watch a couple more. Some pretty funny parts and some parts that really don’t work, but I guess that’s the price of doing the improv.

Gone through the first 3 and enjoyed them all. I feel like 6 episodes is about right for the length of a season before the gimmick will get old. I really like Marshawn changing his name to Detective Bagabitch.

Thought Conan’s episode was hilarious and the Kumail Nanjiani one was a close second. The others were alright.

Marshawn tried too hard and was probably the worst one.

Was surprised how funny it was though. I enjoyed it

If you like Will Arnett and are into podcasts, the "Smartless" podcast with him, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes is great. I've really gotten to appreciate how quick of a wit Will Arnett has after listening to that show. Their cutting style of humor just kills me.
