Don't be fooled by the name...Mercer will be our toughest home opponent yet. They have road wins at Auburn and Alabama already, and took Georgia Tech to overtime. They also won at USC last season...hopefully there will be a decent crowd for this one.

I was just about to post the same thing. They also lost at Okie State by 30 and at UCLA by 17. They lost to East Tennessee State by 20 at home too. They are very tough, but if ISU plays well and GMac has the players prepared ISU can win.
Please do not meltdown if ISU loses to Mercer. They are a good team.

Good team or not, you just can not lose to teams like Mercer and expect to be a respectable Big 12 basketball team. Especially at home.
I watched these guys play at UCLA about a week ago. They are the type of team with which we have problems. They can penetrate and make their own shots. They are aggressive on D and have quick hands and feet. Admittedly, my only point of reference in against a mediocre team like UCLA, so I am sure everything should be discounted.
Should be a good (bad, in Cyclone terms) game. Probably a typical Cyclone game with ups and downs. 50/50 shot of winning, depends on which team shows up (and Brackins..).
Which as a fan should be really fun. Too bad many people just get down when we struggle with teams with a name like 'Mercer' and have a really hard time getting into the games.
The college basketball world has changed. No longer are big crowds important for Big 12 games only. I cant wait to go!
4pm start on New Years Eve Day when the students are out on break and many people are working. This may be the smallest crowd of the year. Time to FAN-UP and come out and support!!! They need us for this game.
