Iowa vs Penn State

I figured I'd check out the ignored content.
"All of Cyclone Nation is rallying around Franklin?"

I mean, that's as asinine of a statement I've probably ever seen on here and justifies keeping him on ignore.

There are good posters and bad posters, and if someone(s) triggers you enough to where you feel the need to make that statement, maybe log off, place them on ignore, etc.
Too easy to put on ignore. I am home with absolutely nothing to do while I finish watching something for a project this weekend. So being honest I am bored and just responding to idiots, which makes me one too because they are just trolls. I don’t particularly care right now, as these people make me feel better about my life.

Are we headed towards a conversation about not hitting too hard?

Or maybe just a variation, we shouldn’t enjoy the boys hitting each other hard?

Up to you obviously.
I've posted on here that I went to the Wear Green for Greenwood game at Kinnick years ago, it was touching. I'm sure Iowa (and ISU fans) are touched by Carson King.
I just know I'm going to not try and judge an entire fanbase like that (people on ignore) but I know I've probably had my moments too. There's definitely good and bad with everyone.

I’m not sure if this has already been mentioned as it’s a long thread. But I thought Ferentz had two options to respond to the fans “booing” injured Penn State players.

1. No comment. This is the safest approach.

2. Say something along the lines of “This is not representative of the fans of the University of Iowa.” This is probably the best option IMHO. It condones the behavior of the fans who decided to boo while trying to promote the respectful fans of Iowa.

Instead, he does the worst option: he agrees with the fans. The fans who booed feel validated. I can guarantee they will boo an injured player again. It’s just a bad look for the university.

What’s really ironic is they wave to the kids in the hospital, yet they boo players who may be admitted to the hospital in a few minutes.

In a way, I’m glad the true Hawkeye colors are coming out for the entire nation to see.

I mean it’s a rivalry so the going back and forth is part of it. And of course I and others know the entire Iowa fanbase isn’t all terrible people. ISU, Iowa and every team has bad fans.

I literally am peachy keen over here and doing some late-night bantering with the trolls. Is what it is, and I am cool with knowing it’s a waste of time.

appreciate your thoughts though honestly. I would love to chat with more on here about topics I like, but these boards have gone to hell. All of the big threads with the most action are political ones (those need to be abolished as they are so toxic and dumb) and then the ISR, which isn’t much better. I finally called it quits reading the political ones because it’s not good to see that much negativity and toxicity. Guess I need to add several other threads to that list too.

The woodworking, meat smoking, and music threads are great.

Nobody really cares about this in any meaningful way.

It may trigger a closer look at the rules around faking injuries, which was just up for debate and ultimately tabled. They trusted coaches to do the right thing. Some of them like Franklin can’t be trusted.

Don’t lie to JP like you lie to yourself.

we discussed the gaps in your logic and a massive rationalizations you had to willingly go through to support your staff.

now just tell us Doyle was fired, and you will have all the talking points down

I thought you wanted more info on reading comprehension skills practice?

I certainly would not try to justify booing a player who got injured. Not a classy look no matter how anyone tries to spin it.

But it’s typical Hok speak. They can’t admit when they made a mistake. Rather they find ways to make their actions rationale. Which they don’t understand only makes them look even worse. And cyclone fans sit back with popcorn and enjoy the negative publicity.

By all means, please continue to try to justify why booing an injured player was the right thing to do.

Nah you’re just an idiot. Your coach is probably one of the worst currently employed in college football, but you just continue to pretend he’s a good guy.
They can't help it. They've been drinking the KF koolaid for years.

I don’t think so. Most sensible people understand that there are hard hits in football. It takes a special group of people to actually boo individuals that have been hurt playing a sometimes violent game.
I will continue to enjoy the hard hits and you can continue to boo injured players.

Listen, I get Penn St. fans crying and whining, but seriously ISU fans this is a bad look for you having a 34 page thread crying about Pedo U's loss.

I can guarantee you there won’t be any national or local media looking at a message board of Iowa’s instate rival saying Iowa State fans made a 34 page long thread about Penn St loss to Iowa.

I can guarantee you Iowa will continue to get negative publicity if they continue to try to justify/validate booing injured players.

But once again, Hok fans can’t admit when they are wrong. Rather they will try to blame someone else. Or they will try to claim their actions will help bring positive changes to the sport. This happens all the time with Hok fans and even people affiliated with the school (looking at you Ferentz).

Just admit booing injured players is something that shouldn’t happen on any level. Don’t try to bring anyone else down with you. This is all on the University of Iowa and their fans.

Injured players didn't get booed. Sure the couple kids who laid on the field for 5 minutes and then popped up and started jumping around and came back on the field a play or two later got booed, but they weren't injured.

Mustipher who left the game injured never got booed. Clifford left the game injured and never got booed, Lovett left the game injured and never got booed, Ford left the game injured and never got booed. Those were the guys who came out of the Iowa game actually injured, and they were never booed.
