So I finally have some money set aside that I'd like to join the wide world of sports betting.

On here, on KXNO, and anywhere else basically, you get bombarded with 1000 different apps, all with their ridiculously dumb promos.

My question is, what is everyone's experience with these apps, likes, dislikes, etc. Is it easy to take advantage of these free money opportunities, or is it hard to use that initial free cash in a way you can actually withdraw it later.

Is it better to stick with a couple that you like? Or should you download like 5 or 6 due to their sign-on bonuses and let that money ride? I'm too lazy to read through the T&C's of these promos to find out if they are advantageous or not.

I don't need gambling advice I get all that, just purely wondering if it's better to sign up with one good one, or take advantage of these hokey sign-on promotions.

Most my friends and relatives have multiple betting site apps. there are pretty good first time bet opportunities. I’m old so I have a hard enough time just keeping track of one.

Glad you took the plunge on this Farnsy. I haven't placed one bet since sports gambling became legal. I see and hear all these promos that seem to good to be true. I'm scared about signing up for something and end up getting taken advantage of with one of these so called to good to be true offers.

I just use Draftkings, I like it but I only bet occasionally and usually like $5 or $10 just for fun.

Use Draftkings. It’s the easiest to use and they currently have a free $100 for new users on a $1 bet. If you do this… be sure to opt-in the promotions bet.

Don't be scared by them, it's just essentially a sign-on bonus for making an account. It's just easier to lure people in by "Bet $1 that a run will be made in a game of your choosing" than "here's $100, let us take your money after that".

It's the T&Cs that make me wonder if it's worth the effort.

I use DK as well. The freebie offers are typically paid back in incremental free bets. For instance it was bet $1, get $150, which was actually 6-$25 free bets. Then if you win your bet, you are awarded the value no strings attached.

They will run other occasional promos to drum up business in the hopes you use your winnings and place more bets.

Similar to 3TF said, its fun, and i only do it as a hobby. Withdrawing is easy process too, if youre concerned about that.

Pm me if you have any questions

But do you have to bet so many times before having to withdraw promo earnings?

I know Caesars and Fan duel still do a risk free 1st bet up to 5K in Caesar’s And 1K in Fan duel.

But do you have to bet so many times before having to withdraw promo earnings?

Not really. For the free bets, you don't get the $25 directly, you only get the money that it earns. But if you win money in that bet, you can withdraw it immediately.

I have FanDuel, Caesar's and DraftKings. I think I would like DK but there is an issue with my bank and depositing that it doesn't let me put any money in there, so the only time I bet on there is when I have a friend that uses my referral and I get some free bets.

FanDuel used to be my favorite but Caesar's has pretty quickly passed it up. Caesar's has some fun superboosts that usually hit (stuff that's pretty likely to happen but far from a guarantee). I also like and have made solid money on some of Caesar's other odds boosts.

I would say as far as using a bunch of apps or just a couple, it depends if you're trying to have some fun or make some good money. One of my buddies is very into arbitrage betting and is good at finding ways to make you the most money using different apps sign on bonuses. I would probably recommend just using one to three you like and stick with that, but just my opinion.

Lastly, do not use Bet MGM. I think whoever made that app thought to themselves, "How can I make it hard as possible for someone to use this app?" and then knocked it out of the park. It is trash.

I've been using PayPal as an intermediary for my bank and these sites. Makes it easier if you are using multiple apps to move money from one to the other without going through a bank that takes time.

DraftKings has an absurd amount of promos via oddsboosts and free bets. There’s really no need to look anything further then here.

I just signed up a few weeks ago for DK. A few observations from someone that is pretty clueless when it comes to gambling.

#1 A work friend was talking about it so I told him to send me an invite. I deposited $200 and I believe we both got $100 credit for doing this.

#2 Once I won my $200 back and had a $100 buffer, I had them send me a check. I knew if I left the money in there I would blow it. The check was fast and easy.

#3 I kept getting an error on my phone when trying to log in. Come to find out that DK could see that I had a VPN on my phone. Even though I wasn't using it, they required me to uninstall. This is because of the location issue with only being able to gamble in certain states. No biggie but something to be aware of.

#4 They do a lot of cool promos. Just be careful on some of the more complex ones. Things like 3+ leg SGP were foreign to me at first and I ended up making some bets that didn't qualify for the promo.

#5 Besides the promos, I just do a lot of $5 bets for fun. Been playing around with the same $100 for a few weeks and I'm about even.

Can anyone address the tax issue?

That’s the only thing holding me back. I’m only interested in making about $10 worth of bets a week just for some fun, but don’t understand the tax implications at all?

There wouldn’t be any in your situation. Unless you hit a $10 15 team parlay - or something along those lines. If you just bet $10 on a straight bet… You’re good.
