Assuming each school gets an equal share, would it even equal what we currently make in one year under our current media deal?

Figure the two years for breaking rules and then 3 years of 14*8 (112) per Bowlsby. So this year is 40.4, say 81. 81 *2 (162) + 112. So 278 MM or about 35 MM each.Assuming each school gets an equal share, would it even equal what we currently make in one year under our current media deal?
So it’s nice money and helps, but it’s not as much as we’re currently making in a year.Figure the two years for breaking rules and then 3 years of 14*8 (112) per Bowlsby. So this year is 40.4, say 81. 81 *2 (162) + 112. So 278 MM or about 35 MM each.
Basically it would keep our payments equal for the last three years and an extra 10 MM on top.So it’s nice money and helps, but it’s not as much as we’re currently making in a year.
Doesn’t seem like any of the remaining eight would delay jumping on an offer from another conference just so they can get that payday.

Read pages 14-16 of the conference bylaws on withdrawing from the conference.

They owe $80 million each and give up any TV rights through the end of the GOR. If they try to sue, then the Big 12 can claim a long list of other damages against the withdrawing schools that are due immediately. The whole thing will be enforceability of the actual contract, which someone else will have to comment on.
It just seems like no matter what, any Big 12 team would be foolish not to jump on an offer from say, the Pac-12.
I think if the Pac-12 says they’re not expanding it’ll be time to start thinking about who the Big 12 is going to add.

According to Brian Williams and Mara Gay, they should just distribute that to the fans and we'd get about a million dollars each.Figure the two years for breaking rules and then 3 years of 14*8 (112) per Bowlsby. So this year is 40.4, say 81. 81 *2 (162) + 112. So 278 MM or about 35 MM each.

This just seems vindictive and a "cut off your nose to spite your face" type of thing. If we have the opportunity to jump to a better, more stable situation, we need to take it right away.OU and Texas are hoping the Angry 8 get nervous and let them off the hook. Texas and OU are the ones wanting out. Sit back and make them pay. No one is going to make a move until the payout is made. And there is no reason to lower the buyout. None. Make them stay. Then keep the CFP at 4 teams. In addition make the SEC play 10 Conference Games. This makes every SEC team have more losses then they have now. SEC has built their lofty overall record on only 8 Conference Games and scheduling 4 patsies.
The only way this pans out for SECESPN is expanded playoffs. Don’t give it to them.
Old article but it shows how the SEC and ACC have only played 8 Conference Games. And that is an advantage. 7 to 8 Home Games.

A permanent switch to the 10-game SEC schedule would be awesome, but there’s only 1 way it ever happens
