IF ESPN isn't funding the expansion of leagues taking the remaining B12 teams in lieu of exit fees and potential lawsuits and to get OU & UT moved for next year, the B12 will be adding BYU & AAC teams after they get their exit money figured out.

Bowlsby has said the remaining value of the B12 teams is about 14M a year and I'm afraid he is probably estimating on the high side(you don't lowball yourself in public). I hope the 14M value is on the current contract and the new one would be a little higher but who knows.

ESPN is teamed up with the SEC, they literally have no voice in any of this.

Meh, to me, at this point, "insiders" (and/or those who represent their views in the media) are trying to shape the narrative to their own ends. All the 41 schools means to me is 41 vs 16 (in the SEC).

Please correct yourself. Bowlsby never said the R8 were valued at 14M each.

Just the fact that they were giving a specific number could mean that nobody is expanding. Honestly, first brush of the coverage, and I think it's still too early to tell where we will land. I still have hope.

We will see bc now these commish are all on record saying the Big 12 will remain a P5 conference.

At the end of the day what matters most in keeping Matt Campbell and this program moving forward is $$ and a legit shot at the CFP...THe later seems like it would be there.

Lol, "SEC sources" (and ESPN) are probably just a little bit bitter that their power play has been countered. They want the Big 12 to be dissolve and be absorbed to save on the exit fees, but everyone is playing along until the SEC/ESPN and the defectors pay up.

I think the ACC and PAC 12 commissioners both realize they could quickly be put in the same position as Bowlsby. So they want to see the Big 10 do its part to protect the remaining 8 in the Big 12 (i.e. take ISU and KU), and they will also do their part.
