IOWA STATE TO BIG TEN?!? Dave Wannstedt thinks so.

Have a moment of silence by the Campanile during the week leading up to the game. Like was done when Jack passed.

I gotta bail out of this thread. I don't like to get excited during realignment. Too much bad info out there.....

But a Big Ten Cyclone team doesn't just pop a rod....it adds an inch
So you’re up to 3?

Sadly, I doubt Wannstedt knows what he is talking about unfortunately. Look at what he said the PAC would take OSU & KSU? Why wouldn't the PAC take TT before anything to try and get their network in Texas especially when FOX has no Texas product? I would be happy to be wrong but I don't see it, with Iowa already in the B1G.

I still think its most likely the remaining 8 need to add 4 schools but if ESPN wants to place everyone so UT & OU can move next year and avoid exit fees and lawsuits its possible everyone gets placed and it really would be better for CFB.

But I think the B1G has the least incentive to add teams. IF USC and some PAC friends doesn't make sense financially I highly doubt they add KU & ISU.

If ESPN is trying to place everyone, I could see where ESPN sends TCU & Baylor to the ACC and TT & OSU to the PAC(maybe even Houston gets added). Then if the PAC turned their network over to ESPN or FOX each league gets carriage for their network in Texas to pay for part of the move. IF KU & ISU are going to another league add KSU & Houston to the PAC schools.

If ESPN needed to place two more teams say KU & ISU, I could see where it could be more likely in the SEC than the B1G. For the SEC its two academic adds, two new states, it ties in Missouri and OU and SEC got the kings ransom in content with OU & UT already and could stand to add two more teams to get this all done.

No since Iowa and Nebraska is a rivalry as well I doubt that gets moved.

Rivalry week would be us and KU

I could see them making Nebraska as KU's "rival." CyHawk game just would be too good to pass up for rivalry week. College Gameday is not coming to a Nebraska vs Iowa game any time soon but they will for a CyHawk so just seems too obvious why that game would not be on black Friday if ISU joined the Big10

He didn't say the PAC wouldn't take TTU. He said he didn't know.

This news is the equivalent of “locker room talk” in my opinion. KSU over Tech for the PAC12? Just not buying it. The bigger story of the day is the Iowa vs ISU also going away with time due to alliance scheduling. ISU and the Big 12 just keeps taking punch after punch. Hiring of Oliver Luck reiterates the remaining option for the remaining 8 schools: expansion.

I can dig it. One of my favorite CyHawks of all time was 2001 when it got moved to the end of the season.

No, we heard about OU and Texas from Texas A&M, via the Houston Chronicle. Big difference.
Well to be fair we are hearing about this from a guy that works for the company that holds the media contracts for 3 of the 4 conferences mentioned, and we all know the media companies push these decisions as much as anything.

Not saying this is any more than a rumor from a guy that was BSing with a bunch of buddies about the possible outcomes at a meeting, but it does beg the question that this was discussed, at some point and in what context, and by whom.

Finally got to listen to this.. He sure sounded confident about all this lol although I do believe nothing is close to being done. I bet a lot of the talks there were about potential moves. Even so, its nice to hear good news even if it doesn’t mean much right now.

Dave Wanstache can do all the chirping he wants. I welcome it and hope its true. Pollard typically plays things close to the vest but he has no choice in this matter. He cant turn ISU into a Texas/Oklahoma type villain and saying anything would probably get any B1G offer revoked if there is one. Remember Missouri was allegedly headed to B1G until they started talking about it.

Lol the scheduling wouldn’t likely happen for a long time due to all of these teams and conferences having contracts with OOC schools for years to come. Also it was reported the B1G doesn’t want to jump into another scheduling agreement and get burned again.

I'd love more than anyone for this all to be true, but I'm very dubious of the idea that this is so widely known at Fox that it's circulating among dozens, maybe hundreds, of employees and the first anyone heard of it is when this guy blabs it on the radio.
