Most likely true. But maybe being at 11 teams when Texas bolts at least gives OU pause.Agree. It is inevitable now. But adding two city teams wouldn’t have stopped it.
Will UT be able to destroy the SEC? I think that's their master plan. Ruin every conference until there is no competition. Imagine being so into money that you have no issue destroying major universities and the economies of those cities just so you can make more money that you can't possibly spend. Makes me sick.
How so?
That's an opinion, not fact.Campbell won’t be in Ames if we become the Big AAC. We won’t come close to affording his salary.
If this happens and there are a lot of articles out there hinting its going too, then the Big 12 is a dead conference. No way the TV revenue will be even close to what ISU is now receiving without OU and UT, no matter how many Houston's, Cincinnati's and the G5 Florida schools the conference adds.
It will be every school for itself, just waiting for a chance to jump to a better league with more money. How long is KU going to stick around?
So AD's are already testing the waters to see what is out there, is the Big 10 going to go to 16, if not how about the PAC 12, one has to think Pollard along with the other 7 AD's are busy right now trying to find a landing spot for their school.
We can only hope at this point.Gene smith going to help isu?
2 important things that everyone must consider, that are in the B1G byelaws that are requirements for admittance to the conference. These are in the byelaws, they are required, these could be changed but never have, and at this point would mean not only changing the byelaws then inviting or approving someone, It is much more likely they add someone that fits their byelaws.
1. University Must be AAU member to be admitted or invited.
2. Must be in current footprint or in adjacent state. Meaning the state must touch the current state footprint. (UNC would require UVA to join for instance to meet this requirement)
Look at AAU list then look at schools that might be available, then look at the B1G footprint, it is a small list.
If the Big 12 implodes, and the B1G decides to add, ISU is one of the only schools that fit without making concessions.

Having an in with Oregon might help us land in the PAC 12 but man that would suck for travel. If this happens and there are a lot of articles out there hinting its going too, then the Big 12 is a dead conference. Hell, the main question is probably if we could afford Manning on Schelhouse with our lack of money. Michgian probably has enough money to offer them $2 million to be on Campbell's staff. What could we offer, assuming our revenue drops 15-20%?
That's an excellent point as well. Assistant continuity is huge and even if campbell himself wanted to stay, that doesnt mean the assistants won't find other jobs now a lot more attractive and we won't be able to pay to convince them otherwise.
Sure they do, and they would be repeating the same mistake the Big 12 made when aTm, Colorado left. If they wait KU will be in the PAC 12, and they will be left with ISU and who?Of course, the big 10 still has its other option: staying where theyre at.
