Report: OU & Texas reach out to join SEC

I thought with the playoff expansion that is likely, the big 12 was set up to be the most profitable due to splitting it less ways. That along with not having third tier rights anymore, seems very shortsighted to give up the power they have in the big 12 for what would be a little more money. I hope there is an ulterior motive to set the big 12 up with a new deal, but I doubt that's the motive.

You would think we’ve earned our way out of a demotion to the MAC…

Agree...but if there are only so many seats at the "adult" table...some people get stuck sitting with the kids! We got a great coach...a program being built that is as impressive as any other building project...but that might not matter when it comes to schools looking for the most money! If Iowa State won't bring in revenue...we will be sitting with the kids! It sucks...hope this is all BS or posturing for some reason! But if it really is OU AND Texas working together...that is alarming.

This is like someone screaming "fire" in a theater. I'm a bit skeptical. Doesn't make much sense, but it sure attracts a lot of attention.

That's a very good summary. And yes, if OU and Texas are working together, the Big 12 was always a house of cards.

With ISU being in better position now I think the Big 10 West wouldn't be bad. Road trips to NE, Minny, Wisconsin. Easy travel.
