Minus the mason jars.![]()
They can be. But they are also some really odd ducks.I miss the A&M fans. Great fans and good people.
The B1G also overstated the value in those TV markets. They aren't getting the premium the were hoping for when those teams joined the conference. You don't know how TV has changed since then?
I'm just going to assume ASU and the U of A would have no interest in joining the Big 12 if UT and OU weren't in it.
I still think we would take a fairly sizable financial hit in that scenario, but I could be wrong.I don't think it's out of the question the remaining Big 12 schools would merge with the Pac-12. What other choice would they have?
Yes I agree. That was a big loss for the Big 12.I miss the A&M fans. Great fans and good people.
I don't believe this for one moment, why would either OU or UT want to go a league that makes it harder for them to reach the playoff? For the money, both are in the top 10 in funding each year, with UT generally leading it.
If they want to go, then go enjoy going from leading the conference to now being one team in a conference where your opinion has less weight then those schools that have been their for decades.
I would say this is nothing more than both OU and UT trying to send a message to big 12 that it might be time to do away with our some what equal revenues and they want to be paid more for staying in the league.
Why would Pac 12 schools take on remaining Big 12 schools. What does it add to them.I don't think it's out of the question the remaining Big 12 schools would merge with the Pac-12. What other choice would they have?
I just don't see Virginia leaving the ACC.If this move happens, that move would put the SEC at 16 with Texas and Oklahoma
That means the Big Ten needs two, and then the ACC/B12/P12 have some shuffling depending upon who.
Initial thought:
Big Ten adds Kansas and Virginia
ACC adds Notre Dame, West Virginia, and one more. (That'd be the hope for ISU to still land P4)
Pac 12 adds four Big 12 schools (Tech, Bay, OSU, KSU probably -- maybe ISU over BU but probably not)
But I don't think the Pac 12 is going to allow that to happen without at least a pitch to Tex/Okla because they'd rather have Texas, Tech, Okla, OSU than the four I mentioned above.
The Big 12 will likely make a counter to Tex/Okla to raid at least the Arizona schools, Colorado and Utah, and maybe more from the P12. A P12/B12 lovechild could develop out of that too.
I think we'd take a major hit. That scenario may lessen the blow a bit though.I still think we would take a fairly sizable financial hit in that scenario, but I could be wrong.
You said they'd take Kansas. What Union state school would hypothetically join the SEC?
