Hunter Deyo commits

Agree! Did he learn from his experience at ARK? Will he go back to what he was good at? Is the Big Ten the place he should be? He is in the right division to take a program from the bottom to a contender!
McElwain is rehabbing at Central Michigan, and it's probably something he should be doing but he got paid I guess.
Illinois has a long ways to go to even get close to NW.

There is a wild card in there...Illinois! Hate Bielema...but he will get after it! Will he be successful? Time will tell...hope he is at least more successful than Iowa...that would be fun to watch!

Lets see them make a bowl game or two before I am going to be worried about them signing more of the highly regarded midwest recruits.

He doesn't have to win the division every year...if he can finish 2nd soon...that is big for that program! Anyway...I can't stand that guy but I do hope his program passes Iowa's! Oh well...today is a day to celebrate ISU and Deyo! Go State!!

Or get sucked into his orbit

I’m curious why everyone sleeps on JR Singleton.

I’m also curious as to whether we still go after Tawfiq Thomas or Marquis Gracial. Because a foursome of any of those guys could give Jon Heacock some really nasty options to play with going forward.

I guess I’m just a curious fellow.
With Deyo committed now getting either is a plus but not a big need.

He was beyond brutal at Arky.
It is the B1G West he's in now. Shouldn't be much of a problem to excel...

I find team recruiting rankings to be misleading at best. For example, we're ahead of Clemson right now.

To me, recruiting rankings would be better if they were tailored to what a team actually needs.
The Team Rankings are simply a combination of the number of recruits based on the individual player "score". It is possible for a team to have a high ranking simply because they landed a large number (20+) recruits with average scores (85.00). Take a look at the average (Avg) of the team to get a true reading of how a team is doing. In Iowa States case, right now the team average is 85.54 with 14 recruits...pretty good...in fact, pretty much the highest team average in his tenure at ISU. As for Clemson, yes, they are ranked behind ISU, but a closer look shows that their team average is 92.02, and their class is ranked 30th with only 8 recruits.

The team ranking also doesn't look at team "need". But, it does give a good general sense on how teams are with respect to other teams...you just have to dig a bit more into the metrics.
