ISU MBB Twitter

I posted the news on the Pro Board but thought more ISU MBB fans probably visit this thread more often.

This is really exciting news for Tyrese Haliburton. It's a tremedous honor to be on the Team USA Select Team. I hope Tyrese can take full advantage of this opportunity to grow. It won't surprise me if he's on Team USA for the Paris Olympics in 2024.

I briefly read a headline somewhere (didn't click on it), something about, 'Are US athletes traitors for playing on foreign Olympic teams?'

And I thought, "Really!?" These kids want to play in the OLYMPICS! I got NO problem with that. It will be the time of their lives!

Well Puerto Rico is part of the US so he can't be a traitor. What a stupid article.

That's a great honor and will be a great experience for Tyrese!

Love the increase in social media content from the Iowa State Mens Basketball twitter account. Reminds me of the increase from the CPR to CMC era. Hopefully similar results

Yeah, one has to think this is deliberate on the part of the TJ regime. That and somebody (maybe TJ, maybe D-Rob) basically spilling everything all the time to CW certainly paints a picture.

Yes, and the 'younger' generation. Campbell and Otz (the younger gen) seem more savy to the power of social media, and how it might postively benefit them.

FWIW, Prohm and Otz are only 3 years apart, they would have been attending high school and college at the same times. It’s just a difference in personality.

Not to mention they also worked together, even if for just one season.

Anyway, most of the time I utterly despise Twitter, but it is fun to see all these videos. As for the difference between the coaching staffs, while it might be partly based on personality, I also think there's only so much you can do through social media to try and make a 2-win/20+ loss season not look nearly as bad as it truly was. That plus the obvious (and needed) positive energy jolt that a new regime provides.
