Pollard an AD candidate at Nebby?

Let's just say that Scott Frost has been given more power than Moos and if Frost would have gotten his way they would have backed out of the OU game. Moos had to leak that Nebby wanted out to stop it from happening. Moos tried to do the right things and he got shut down by higher ups so he basically stopped even showing up.
This is the tamer stuff I heard and it's second hand info but I also heard it from more than one person and the people I know are usually more right than wrong. Jamie is too smart to even consider taking that job.

I've heard Moos had a bit of a drinking problem that didn't help his cause either. This came from someone who would know.

There are those coaches and AD's who measure their own success by how high up the institutional status ladder they've managed to climb (e.g., Gene Chisek, Gene Smith), and there are those who measure their own success by what they've actually built (e.g., Matt Campbell, Jaime Pollard).

I see this in my own field of work and I'm guessing many of you do too. I really respect those who dig in and try to build something vs those who see my place of employment as a stepping stone to the next bigger and better job.

I guess it's possible there are other universities right now who have a better AD/football coach combination than Iowa State, but I can't think of any. We are so blessed.

Wouldn't you drink too if you were stuck in Nebraska? :p ####, Bob Devaney was one of the biggest partiers in in college football and his staff used to party at all the promo tours around the state. He won, so it was alright.

I don't think Pollard is leaving for Nebraska or anywhere.

But now would be the time that he might consider leaving---Thomas is done competing at Iowa State. James has graduated from high school and is going to UNI. And he had his little temper tantrum last fall over stadium capacity.

Best part about this rumor is we get to tweak Nebraska fans over it. Can't wait to see their heads explode when we remind them our AD thinks ISU is a better job than NU.

It’s ok to love what a person has done as an AD yet still point out some of their flaws. Why we have to blindly compliment someone who wears our jersey or is on our team is beyond me.

Meh. With his thin skin, Pollard wouldn't last a year out there.

I agree that there is nothing wrong with admitting a person's flaws. However, a lot of the things JP complains about are things our fans have complained about for years. To me, it's kind of endearing to see him call out the same things that I get upset about. It's like when somebody in another department continuously makes your job harder, and your boss calls them out on it. For an AD, sometimes the only way to escalate anything is to make it public knowledge.

Really amazing thinking about it…imagine in 1995 if I told you that in 30 years

1. Iowa state will have a far superior football program than nebraska and the AD job at Iowa state would be a far better job.

crazy, but true, Nebraska is now a stepping stone for any job at Iowa state
