Old Mediocre Has-Been Desperate To Appear Relevant; aka JBo To Return

I somewhat expected the big loss to Iowa. Even then we showed flashes in the first half

K State had lost to a D2 so the thought was “hey, at least we should be able to beat these guys”

Nope
So much do I agree with this. I was not even that upset about the loss, considering we kept it under 30. I was expecting a 40+ point beat down. I'd have to go back and look, but 77 points is probably the 2nd or 3rd most points we scored all year.

Has there ever been a player who is more of a living embodiment of the Hawkeye fan base than Jorbo? I would contend that Jorbo lacks true trolling skills. He is like the kid who pulls a prank on someone but is the only one who thinks it's funny. Now, arrogance and dooshery? He's got that in spades!!

Chest thumping about making fun of college guys is weird, but carry on.

You don't pull the crap he has done over the years and expect rivals to respond with butterflies and unicorns. If you are an attention-seeking ***** who pokes the bull, you're gonna get the horns. Also, he may act like a tweenager, but age-wise he is an adult - I think he can handle it.

So, I will gladly carry on - and thank you for your permission (jimlad).

His ceaseless thirst for unearned adoration is among the more pathetic public spectacles I've ever seen.

I haven't followed this thread too closely, most of what I know about the ongoing Bohannon psychodrama is through tweets or headlines that I read. But I wrote this quoted post about a month ago and I think I actually underestimated how pathetic this all is.

Nobody fears him as a basketball player. Nobody thinks he's smart or funny or engaging enough to be the troll that he thinks he is. His teams have accomplished exactly nothing of significance. His own fans seem lukewarm at best about having him back. He seems weirdly driven by owning a team coming off its worst season in history.

I'm not sure I've ever seen someone so desperate to cling to their 15 minutes.

Very well said. He's basically the living embodiment of a Chris Farley skit of a college wannabe. Somebody that knows deep down they aren't legit in the game as-is, but will be nothing more than JoShmo once he finally is forced to move into the real world.

I give it 5 years before JorBo is running a bar in downtown Iowa City.

Hello. I am here to eat crow. When Jordan came out and said he would come back if Iowa Legislature passed NIL. I saw it as a call to arms for fans around the state to pick up the phone and call their legislators. I saw him fighting for NIL during the NCAA Tourney as a cause bigger than himself.

I'm here today to say I was wrong. I hope Jordan continues to turn up the heat on NIL and is a pain in the ass for the NCAA this next season. However, this is the most selfish, self-centered, cry for attention I've seen outside of the Cave. Most of my Hawk friends are even completely confused and almost ashamed to talk about it.

Hopefully Otz will have the men's basketball team turned around in time to thank Jordan for all the memz.

I think that JBo has completely destroyed any credibility that he had in regards to NIL and would do more harm than good if he stays associated with it. He just voluntarily chose to accept the current compensation for playing college basketball. Not that he probably had a choice, but the reality of the situation is that, to most players, getting to go to college for free with a stipend on top in exchange for playing basketball is a pretty good deal.

I think he’s a better top to bottom player than Bohannon, yes. I think and know Jordan is a better 3 point shooter.
You may want to look into assists, rebounding, and turnovers and FG percentages. They are similar in all with Bohannon being better in A/TO by a wide margin.
