The Fran fade

Like what?
Last year it was distributing, i know you guys go crazy when i talk about his post entries but it was important when you have Garza and 3 guys surrounding him. He played ok to good defense but i admit it went downhill probably because of the old hips. Next year he needs to be a bench 10 to 15 minute guy without Garza

Distributing? He had the second highest turnover percentage on the team and Toussaint, Bohannon and even Ulis had higher assist percentages. He sucks at defense too

He wasn’t very good at that last year. He honestly struggled at everything. It was very very bad. Luka covered up a lot of his issues.

We turned it over so little that even still it wasn't that bad. Someone has to be highest. It was a 3.6 to 1 turnover average and that's pretty good. Add in he was often time the one throwing it into Luka which is a tougher pass than swinging it around on the perimeter. I think I'd have to start with step 1 of basketball to make you understand "the little things"

I disagree. I don't think you have as efficient offense as we did with someone struggling at everything.

20.6% turnover percentage is not good. Rasir Bolton was at 18.8%

Connor didn’t do nearly enough to qualify for a starting role. The guy averaged a little over 3 points on a top 10 team lol. Cmon.

He scored in double figures twice all year. He didn’t make a single basket in the post season. He shot 27% from the 3, yet shot 38 more 3’s than 2’s on the year because he’s a terrible finisher and can’t get by anyone. He’s a coaches son and “does all the little things” but shot 58.6% from the FT line...

Yes you can.. It’s not like Connor was unplayable in that he turned it over every single play or took terrible shots or that he was an absolute liability defensively. But being a good “post feeder” isn’t worthy of a starting role.

Towards the end of year i agree his defense took a nose dive. I don't think you could categorize it that way over the year

Not really sure why either team would mock the other for filling in bench roles. With the amount of players both teams have leaving for a variety of reasons, you’ve got a lot of spots to fill in, and not all of them are going to be superstar starter roles.

How can a coach's son shoot 58.6% from the FT line? Heck, those are Shaq numbers. And to think that all the Iowa outside shooter numbers were padded by having Garza in the middle (often sucking up two defenders). The team's to margin certainly benefited by have the usual sure-handed Garza...just get the ball to him and let him work. What are the to numbers going to be next year when the generational player Garza is gone? Better? Teams are simply going to press out further on the 3 point shooters next year.

I wasn’t saying Connor was bad defensively. I was saying wasn’t terrible in every single area, but he didn’t do anything well either. Averaging 3.6 assists a game doesn’t justify averaging 3.3 ppg, shooting 27% on the only shot you’re allowed to take, and being a 58% FT shooter.

100%. It’ll be interesting to see how that plays out next year.

And he also played in the Big Ten where you can easily inflate your stats

To completely ignore usage is just dumb
Im not ignoring it but it's going to be skewed the way the offenses are set up. You have to see that. I think bolton is ok playing out of position a bit but he makes a lot more mental mistakes than Connor if thats your argument

He made a lot more mistakes because he always had the ball in his hands. Connor actually turned the ball over a lot considering his usage
