I’m not mad about it at all. Not my first choice, but he’s been through the good and bad at Iowa State and he knows what it takes to win here. He also is a pretty good coach and a hell of a recruiter. He’s already had a better recruiting class than Fran at a non p5 school in his second class. Things could go well. I’m pretty optimistic.

If you're happy with TJ then so am I. Now I just have to worry about Minnesota's next hire. They could really become a problem with the right hire. I've heard Dutcher, Miles and Musselman are the top of their list. Some really good coaches there.
 
Weird how Iowa fans want to not count Kirk’s first couple seasons, Fran’s first couple seasons at Iowa, and Prohm’s first couple seasons at ISU but absolutely want to count TJ’s two seasons at UNLV as an indicator of what kind of coach he is....I wonder why?

Some are rebuilding jobs and some aren't. I don't think TJ's first season should count against him a whole lot if he can show some improvement in year two and then progress in years three and four.

KF and Fran took over bad teams and had to rebuild. Same thing TJ will have to do. Fran choose to rebuild with traditional recruiting and it took a few years. I suspect TJ will go the transfer route, so it might not take as long as it did for Fran if he hits on the right transfers.

Prohm took over a great team, had really good recruits and was terrible once Fred's players left. I could have coached Prohm's first two teams to at least make the NCAA tournament.

Seems like many Clone fans on the main board aren’t too happy about it.

Here is the thing that would bother me about the hire. It was Jamie didn’t even kick the tire on more proven guys. He didnt do any due diligence and find out from others who top guys around the country were. He hired a buddy of his, and that was all he looked at period, and all he was ever going to do.

Maybe it's because that's all there are? I guess the bright side is that if he'd have gotten UNLV to the NCAA tournament maybe you wouldn't have been able to get him or it would have certainly cost you more $$$$ anyway.

almost as if Jamie thinks he's Barry Alvarez. Who needs a search committee? Search committees call him!

I mean people don't HAVE to follow him on Twitter. I always think it's funny when people are outraged or annoyed by what someone says on Twitter. There is a very simple solution.

I mean I've never looked at an ISU players Twitter account in my life. I do check the Iron Sheik's daily. That guy is comedy gold on Twitter. I go there for the laughs, not to get pissed off.
